One branch of fundamentalist Christianity in the US was the KKK and the terrorism of the IRA derived from its identification with Irish Catholics. Fundamentalist Christians have attacked Abortion Clinics. At the present time Radical Islam is more violent and virulent than the radical arms of other religions but that has not always been the case so I am not sure you can generalise it as a way to draw conclusions about the religon as a whole. Fanaticism can warp people's thinking so they can rationalize murder - the Western terrorist groups of the 70s derived their fanaticism from Marxism. It seems to me that Islam has become the new Communism in the US's mesianic view of the world.

Confused, I agreed with your earlier posts regarding the tone of this thread and the pigeonholing, but posting PMs and such comes off as kind of weird.
Forum posting is really about the individual posts and not the posters; I can argue strongly against someone in one thread and agree with them greatly in another. I personally don't really care about opinions of the personalities behind the handles, and it's really just a distraction to me in this and other threads where people do it. It's not my site, but that's just my opinion; it's kind of hard to share ideas with personal stuff going on in the middle.

Apologies to everyone else on this topic: hopefully things will become clear and all this crap can be removed once it's been settled but I don't want to be accused of covering anything up or doing anything I haven't.
