Good grief, if there is such a thing, anyways if Christ comes knocking on your door looking for you???

It doesn't happen to anybody, ever. If a person came to my door claiming to be Christ, I would not believe them. You cannot believe everything that you are told.

Wouldn't you find it more stranger if no one heard from Christ?

What I find strange is that people don't see this for what it is, mental illness.

Then again maybe you should ask yourself why Christ isn't talking to you?

As for the rest of you, I believe her.

Why?! Have you considered schizophrenia? Maybe the voices that she hears are in her mind. How can you tell the difference between her and schizophrenics? A doctor needs to decide. Schizophrenics often are very sure that God is talking to them, but it turns out that they have a very serious mental illness. I'm sorry, but you should not be encouraging this. If you care about AGuest, you should convince her to go to a therapist. If in fact she is schizophrenic, they can help her. If in fact she is really speaking with God, then she has nothing to lose by seeing a doctor.

That's easy, by what she says. Now you tell me - - what therapist will know if Christ was speaking to someone or not? Then again if you believe in the Bible would you accuse the witnesses who wrote scriptures are also metally ill? I can see why God had to do miracles to at least get a few people to believe in him.

This is how. If she puts a schizophrenic on medication, the voices will go away. If God is really talking to AGuest, then the voices will remain. This isn't 100% accurate, but if the voices go away after medication, then she most definitely wasn't talking to God. The door should be left open for this possibility.

These people never claimed to directly talk with God like AGuest has. They research and prayed and assumed that what they came up with is God's will. So as far as I am concerned anyone who claims to speak with God is delusional at the least.

I've just been on the cerebro-phone with Binky the Pink Unicorn, and she tells me that she's sorry for the inconvenience about everyone hearing Jesus. She'd just popped out to 7-11 for some miracle wheat and he managed to get the headset from the counter. It wont happen again because the little brat is now GROUNDED.

I have worked in psych for over 15 years and , most schiz's i have seen are not nearly as articulate as aguest. Generally they have problems forming thoughts and sentences. However, in the manic phase of bipolar, patients can be quite gifted and have been known to convince their docs/nurses of their delusions.And even with meds, patients can maintain their delusions and still hear voices.

I don't find anything aguest says to sound mentally ill. Growing up in the bible belt, many people here claim to have God's spirit and to be able to speak in tongues b/c of it. Many religions were started b/c somone said God spoke to them.If aquest leads an otherwise normal life, and her voices do not tell her to harm others, probably she is ok.She might want to go for an exam, but probably she will not.

There are those here who claim to have encounters with demons, ghosts etc. Is everyone looney? My personal belief is that there is a spirit world and some people are more "in tune" with it than others.

No credible doc would make an attempt to diagnose over the net, not with this small amoout of info. this is where a little info can be dangerous thing. (u know just enough about a subject to be dangerous)

I think God's spirit helps us by directing us to help others. At times i have had thoughts pop inot my head, regarding someone, and i have wondered if it was not God directing me to assit that person.

I agree with that. My concern is that there are many spirits who teach error and one has to test the inspired utterances. Shelby refuses to test them with the bible. By doing that she is wide open for false teachings. If someone can claim that the majority of the bible is not inspired then what are they testing the inspired utterances with? Paul addressed this specific issue and gave a warning but Shelby doesn't believe that Paul's letters were inspired even though Peter declared them to be. I am not ruling out that there may be a mental illness but I lean toward the spirit world. I know nothing about Aguest except that she is a woman in CA who is black and Jewish and declares herself to be one of the 144,000. She seems polite and gentle and very sincere...That is why I am concerned, she is sincere and needs to heed the warnings that Jesus and Paul gave us.

There are known genius schizophrenics that become college professors and other jobs that require you to be fluent and articulate. So, I'm not claiming to be a mental health official, but there is still a possibility that she has mental illness.

I do not believe in spirit creatures, I am more apt to believe in proven science. Schizos hear God. Schizos talk to God. I might be wrong about the specific mental illness, but honestly the things AGuest is claiming are scary.

Probably. But what happens if one day God tells her to do something harmful? It's not safe to wait.

it has been my personal experience with two schizophrenics in my immediate family of origin, that not only are they highly intelligent and articulate, but they also have a peculiar habit of lapsing into alliteration(repeated consonantal sounds...like a sentence where every word starts with the same letter) or nonsensical rhyming. I saw this in AGuests posts too. I can't remember which one, but it had something to do with rhyming 'funk' and it was not appropriate to the thread. If someone lives close to Shelby, they need to 'check' on things.
