I loved your explanation of Christ being small and not physically appealing. This makes perfect sense to me

    Hi bobby,

It is in the bible prophecy that Jesus would be unattractive and not a pleasure to look at by man. That is divine prophecy alright. I don't think that Aguest mentioned that.

    Hamas,

I get you more later...for now Matt 26:63-64. There it is in black and white baby!! love, dj

Ahhh, back again. The current in the gorge leading to Folsom dam was stronger than usual, so I decided to take a little break on a small pebble covered beach shaded by cottonwood and oak trees. How pleasant it was to lie there on the cool stones and listen to the wind rustle through the trees and hear the current lapping against the granite outcroppings. Life is good!

While lying there sipping a cold ale I realized I had violated posting rule 10. My entire post was off-topic. Oops! Sorry. Forgive me Simon, for I have sinned. Please except as my penance my recitation of Dylan lyrics ad infinitum...or until out of earshot.

Ok, I'm feeling better now. The real reason I came here (which I totally neglected to mention) was that last week as I was reading the 16th chapter of John I thought to myself, "Wow, it would seem that this is telling me that Christ is the Holy Spirit, or is being used to dispense Holy Spirit." It was the first time that I had ever had such a notion, so I found AGuest's post pretty coincidential. Now please, take no offense you Trinitarians. I mean none. I find these doctrinal disputes to be pointless. One does not have to be a monotheist, nor a trinitarian nor even a Christian to love ones neighbor as oneself. I continue to read the scriptures because I find the words of Christ to be inspiring. Doctrine doesn't inspire me. People do, or can. I find AGuest to be inspiring because she has the courage to come here and post things that she knows will cause her to be belittled. I wonder if I could ever show such courage if there was need.

    Hamas,

Thanks for your kind words and warm welcome.

    Hiya DJ,

I've read a few of your posts and I like you too. I realized after the fact that some of the scriptures I had read substantiated AGuests post regarding Christs appearance. Under the WTBTS proof scripture hopping tutors I had never made this connection. The expensive Catholic education my parents provided me failed me in this area as well. So, this was that first time I had considered such a notion. I'm happy that I was finally privy to this concept.

Well folks I'm off again. The sun still shines and my plums have just ripened and I suspect enough will be ready to suffice as my dinner. Theres a good chance that I might be able to snag an early fig or apricot to compliment the fare so, until we meet again.

John 20:31 - "but these things are written that you may believe that jesus is the Christ, the Son of God". From the biblical standpoint there seems to be no dispute that Jesus was the Son Of God, Trinity or no Trinity.

    This is for Hamas:

Jesus Christ did say that He was The Son of God, in fact -- The Only-Begotten Son of God:

John 3:16-18: For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world so that He might condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the Name of the Only Begotten Son of God.

John 5:20-27: For the Father loves the Son, and shows to Him all things which He Himself does; and greater works than these He will show Him, so that you may marvel. For as the Father raises up the dead and gives life, thus also the Son gives life to whom He wills. For the Father judges no one, but He has given all judgment to the Son, so that all may honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. "Most assuredly I say to you, he who hears My Word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. Most assuredly I say to you, that an hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those having heard shall live. For just as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.

John 9:35-38: Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and having found him, He said to him, "Do you believe in the Son of God?" He answered and said, "And who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?" And Jesus said to him, "You have both seen Him and it is He who is speaking with you." Then he said, "Lord, I believe!" And he worshipped Him.

John 10:30-36: I and the Father are One." Therefore the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, "Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?" The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God." Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I said, "You are gods" '? If He called those gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?

John 11:4: And when Jesus heard, He said, "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it."

Luke 22:66-71: And when it became day, the council of the elders of the people, the chief priests and scribes, came together and led Him into their council, saying, "If You are the Messiah, tell us." But He said to them, "If I tell you, you will by no means believe. But if I also question you, you will by no means answer Me or release Me. Hereafter the Son of Man will sit on the right hand of the power of God." Then they all said, "Are You then the Son of God?" So He said to them, "You rightly say that I am." And they said, "What further testimony do we need? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth!"

    John 6 : 69 :

and we have believed and come to know that you are the Holy One of God

Indicates Jesus was a faithful prophet.

    John 10:36 :

....you blaspheme, because I said, I am God's son?

The bible mentions we are all God's sons.

Two examples. In most cases, Jesus is speaking of being God's son with reference to us all being Son's of God.

The bible mentions we are all God's sons.

The bible does not teach that we are all sons of God but only those who do His will.

You have ignored the other verses!! To put Jesus on the same level as any man such as a prophet is wrong. He has created all things! Hebrews 1:10 John 1 Collosians, etc.... What prophet do you know of that is also the creator?

    Hi AGuest,

Getting back on topic, thanks for answering the question about the Holy Spirit, now what you recorded here or should I say our Lord matches with the Bible. I am back tracking here which I hope no one minds:

"But what about the Father?" Is He, too, the Holy Spirit?"

And my Lord answered, "I am the Holy Spirit, by means of the spirit of my Father and your Father. That One sent me before Israel, as a spirit unglorified, for my glory exists... in the heavens. He then sent me before Israel, as a man... first unglorifed, then glorified. Finally, He has sent me... as a spirit, GLORIFIED, for I now exist in the heavens, in the kingdom, where I was before the seed was thrown down."

This is what was recorded in the Bible which has survived many generations:

    Joh 14:26

But the Comforter, [even] the HOLY SPIRIT, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you.

The Holy Spirit is sent by Jah in the name of Christ: (In other words the Holy Spirit represents our Christ fully is my understanding.)

    o[noma Onoma (on'-om-ah);
Word Origin: Greek, Noun Neuter, Strong #: 3686

    1. the name is used for everything which the name covers, everything the thought or feeling of which is aroused in the mind by mentioning, hearing, remembering, the name, i.e. for one's rank, authority, interests, pleasure, command, excellences, deeds etc.

Ac 1:5 until the day in which he was received up, after that he had given commandment through the HOLY SPIRIT unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

After our Christ ascended back to heaven at the right side of our Father he now gives his commandments through the Holy Spirit in his name. Now obviosuly this is two way talking or communication here.

    Ac 7:55
But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
Note that Stephen was full of Holy Spirit and Jesus standing on the right hand of God .

In short the Holy Spirit in the name of our Christ does indeed talk to people as Witness by AGuest, myself and a number of other people. I pray that everyone here receives the Holy Spirit freely and lovenly and listens to our Christ.

Aguest may you continually be blessed! from Jah through our Christ by Holy Spirit.

    Hi noko,

I view the Holy Spirit as Jesus and the Father. Having "Christ in you" to me, seems to be the same as having the Spirit inus, etc... There is an undeniable Oneness. Yet, Jesus did speak of the Spirit of Truth as coming after He left as another helper. He was showing separateness, yet they are One. The teaching of the trinity covers it all for me. Love, dj

    Hi Shelby,

I did respond to your last post on the Adam thread. Hope you read it soon. love, dj
