I've been out of the loop for quite a while so don't much about the abuse problem in the society. Yes, I own a tv and read newspapers so I should be more informed but am not.

It took me a while to figure out what is meant by troll on this site. xjw_b12 accused me of that earlier and I thought he meant the kind under the bridge and had to sleep with the light on that night. Hi to all of you. I am a newbie to not only this site, but to chat rooms as well.

I am 41 years old and at one time was a 4th generation JW. My Great Grandparents were both (they believe) part of the remnant and were also missionaries with CT Russell. I am now happily free and yet still feeling the mind games we all play with ourselves to not "hurt" our family.

I believe Pooh that you are in a great place - you're questioning. Continue to question. Don't accept the quick pat answers. Look deeper and listen to your heart. One of the biggest brainwashing techniques is to make you feel that Jehovah would not love you, which translates to they will not love you. You just love yourself!

Northern Girl came into this for a reason. Read her words and you will see how the mind game continues. Listen to her own confusion, and then how she attempts to explain herself. This is a point where many of us were and have come to the other side of.

I feel pity for most of the JW's, because this is the greatest brainwashing I have ever been aware of. These people are brainwashed and brainwash others without even realizing it. How f'd up is that? Anyway. Just my two cents worth!
