Dearest mouthy...I know exactly what you are saying. There are some times when people need to be exposed to experience they would not usually have the great fortune to have. When you can't do that it isn't what you want anymore and you have to make Steve walk the plank. It might take some planning w/you and Joy, but a little prayer makes anything possible right? eh.....

    Sincerely,

We allow for a variety of different subjects not clearly related to JWs and tolerate a certain amount of aberrant comments realizing many here are dealing with serious emotions as they make this journey. Thus the posting guidelines are just guidelines and moderators use their best judgment in dealing with disruptive behavior. That 'best judgment sometimes result in editing posts and from time to time removal of posting privileges of those who disrupt. And I might add none of us are without error in making these judgements.~~ just2laws

I think that Steve said just about everything you did in your post in his first, perhaps not in as many words. I do believe his major concern was anyone who may try to purposely disrupt the posting guidelines set forth. I do not think he meant to convey that we could not discuss those items you stated. ( I hope not anyway )

I hope you pain is relieved, you are in my thoughts.

    Mouthy,

Then it appears you misunderstand what I was saying.

But there are those who are seeking who >>>>ARE homosexuels, drunks, adulterersSo they "spill their guts" Since I believed this was an UNCONDITIONAL site. No rules on spilling your thoughts ,feelings etc.....

Maybe I failed to address this type JW or exJW. By saying this is a place to

give support as survivors rather than a place to vent your anger, attack your enemies, or assert one's perceived freedom of speech

I intended for it to be a given that this is the type person needing support. It is those who have been helped past this initial stage of finding support, we would expect they would eventually appreciate the need to look out for the feelings of others and try not to offend them needlessly. You no I have always welcomed new onse unconditionally, haven't I.

I have real weidos come to my place - are 'Out" but are ashamed of what they are- were- etc. I tell (them as you have) I wont allow the filthy swearing
We agree completely. Yet I only ask someone not to swear when there are others present who might be offended, such as on the public board. Otherwise I don't mind.
I guess my back went up at MAN again telling me what I can do.
Thus the flash back that I was being an WT elder again? I love talking with you even if we are differing.
WE are NOT the herders, just a family
Good point. That is why there are NO rules, just guidlines, and why people are reasoned with and pleaded with even when they get way out of line. Sorry I got you excited. Steve

    Hello fearnotruth22,

    You have made good points.

The critical eye that analyses the Wt mag, will also see the deficiency on this board namely that it primarily vents animosity towards the Wt and posters attack individuals that express views which do not line up with such hatred
You are right, this happens. If all would the points made above regarding the purpose of the site we might be a little more effective at regulating ourselves, each poster. That is reason for this post. This negative attitude was addressed by Hillarystep but I cannot find a link to it. Maybe someone else can help

Please do not misunderstand that what I describe is exactly what this site IS. I have only expressed its purpose, for all to work toward. Thank you for pointing out another area where improvement is needed.

As a general rule for Internet discussion boards, I prefer that moderators and board administrators NOT be allowed to post on topics.

Announcements and technical stuff, OK, thats understandable. But not the day-to-day topics and discussions.

Keeps things fairer in my opinion. It makes it possible to share in a discussion with someone else on the board knowing that you are on an equal footing.

    Mouthy,

I'm glad we are OK. I was prepared for ANYTHING to be thrown at me except your getting upset with me. That had me pacing the floor. Hope you get some relief from your back problem.

    Take care.
