Yes, I find people are stupid and the stupidest ride NYC transit buses. I find that after working eight years for a public agency that the public is lost and walking around in a daze. Countless of lost objects are turned in daily by bus drivers, book bags, wallets, keys, glasses, clothing, personal papers. Ad I really dont think that people are stupid per say, but that with the constant daily struggle with survival, the kids, bills, commuting to work Americans are just not aware of whats going on. Also many people in our society are on some kind of medication, mental, pain, cold medicines that we are just walking around in a coma like Farenheit 451.

I think most people are emotional rather than stupid. Usually, it's difficult to tell the difference.

Who really knows? What we see in someone today might be progress from the day before ...?
I'm wondering if generally people choose to be progressive and keep growing in their head knowledge, their emotional intelligence, their common sense ...? Or if people generally like to stay in one place ...?

I disagree. I think most people are so self centered and selfish as to be devoid of emotions of any real sort unless it pertains to themselves and theirs. That is where I've reached my opinion that most are apathetic. I don't want to get into any Hobbesian argument with you Expat cause I know you'll win but, I think you're wrong. Of course I'm just a cynic...
