Other than a few posted by Mulan, I don't know any of these guys, and I'm not exactly a tender youth.
George Cook: Mulan, I thought this guy was a bit of a Nazi. Local elders used to cringe when they found out we were the host cong. for his visits. Liked to dismiss brothers serving in departments if their hair touched their collars. Ended up with NO qualified brothers in the sound department once.
CO Michaelson: Tall, blonde, Finnish from Michigan's UP. Famous for a talk about trees wherein he punched his point with the word, "WHACK!" (I've always wondered if Focus knew him). Gave great story-telling talks.
CO Peter Michas: Greek, wonderful operatic voice, bad heart. Left the circuit work for health reasons, but returned a changed man. Finally put out to pasture with no way of earning a living. Last I heard, he was singing in small clubs in Seattle for change.
CO Tim Antonio: Another great speaker, but an outrageous elitist, he always sought out the company of the weathier Dubs. He had a taste for pricey single-barrel whiskeys and the widows of the congregation couldn't seem to afford to serve him.
DO Holeman (sp?): Also a hard-liner. Was famous for ragging on issues such as chewing gum and slit-skirts.
From the past: Johnny Palouso, another from the fine Italian school of CO's. Single when he served us. Flirted openly with my sister.
And if you would care to step in to the Wayback Machine: Van Ike and his harpy wife. He was old even when I encountered him in the early 60's. Was a former vaudeville performer who did a bit with spoons, and claimed to be of the annointed. His wife once humiliated my sister in front of a car-group because her bookbag (which probably came from a thrift shop because we were poor as dirt) was not up to her standards.
Max, you know any of these dudes?
