    Not Blind:

D.O. Joseph Howard - this guy was a jackass and everybody knew it! He loved to humiliate the participants on the TMS at the circuit assembly. He was firmly ANTI-COLLEGE and made sure you knew it.

I don't disagree that Howard often gives this impression when speaking from the platform, however, we've known him very well for years and he is anything but a jackass or anti-college. He is also himself an extremely smart man. He has only himself to blame, though, for the fact that some see him negatively; he does spout mightily the party rhetoric from the mic and has the unfortunate tendency to try to amuse/entertain the audience too often at the expense of some poor TMS student. He and wife have been in the traveling work for many years and have seen and are aware of much that is despicable in the organization and are very distressed at a lot of what they see and know is going on. But they are old and in poor health now and probably find themselves in the same position as so many others who have mortgaged their everything to Brooklyn.

Does anybody here know whatever happened to Carl "Slicin" Dyson? he was a CO who served here in the New York city area during the Mid 80's.Was known as a good speaker but would openly insult the audience from the platform with comments like:"Look at them out there. They're sleeping." He also accused the audience of having 'Small minds'.
Does anyone here know where he is or if he is still in the traveling work? Has he awaken from his wt sleep yet?

    Howdy Maximus,

Did Paul Ruggles end up in Myrtle Beach, SC in one of those companies which "franchise" primarily jw's? Like TrimLine, Mighty Tools, Paint on Parade, etc?

Seems to me I remember the mention of his name and the fact that he was a former CO. I only met him once. Slick.

My favorites in UK were Mike and Val Hodson, in Yorkshire back in 87/90. They were great. Val was mad about football (thats soccer to all you Yanks). She even phoned me from another cong. in the circuit on FA cup final day, to gloat when my team (Manchester United, nicknamed The Red Devils!!!) conceded a goal. Mike even infuriated Bethel when he badly damaged his knee in a jetski accident and had to do his assembly talks sat down!

Worst: Brent Smith. A nice guy basically but had a wasp up his arse over haircuts being too short, when his looked like Elvis circa 1975!

Can somebody from UK e-mail me with info about William Heath turning apostate/seeing the light. I knew and liked him too

Too many posts to keep track of who said what!

Mulan: do you still have my phone number? We could have a fun gab-fest about Holman. What a world-class jerk!

    And this caught my attention:

*roybatty* I remember Walden Chin too - ick. There was an Awake! article about his family in 1997 I think. I liked his wife (Mary Lou). I heard they were in Ohio now.
Is this the same Kin and Mary Jo Chin who lived in San Francisco and later served in the Northwest in the early 70's? He was Chinese/American and Mary Jo was a bubbly buxom blonde.

I didn't personally have Baxter, but I know of people who did. He was especially hard on families with little kids.

    Nobody knew Tim Antonio???

    Welllllllllll,

That sure makes my skin crawl. I'll bet Samuelson is quite effective in keeping all the others in the "company spirit."

Word around here from even other elders was that our local CO's, City Overseer, and PO's all were afraid of him.

Waiting, you were really waiting on that choice gem about Samuelson! HoChi, it's now Christian Congregation of JWs. <smile>

I really don't know about Ruggles and the franchises, but that sounds about right; rings a faint bell.

Worf! Owe you one, been up to my ears. Chickens coming home to roost and all that. You knew Overholt? Mark?

Slicin' Dyson? No one went to sleep on me, but there was this guy who was acting like an attendant in the back, who never seemed go with the audience flow in getting a good point. When I was just starting to build he would inappropriately be really animated, as if he were saying YES!!! Puzzled me.

And then I saw it. The tell-tale wire from his ear! Fool was listening to the football game on a transistor! Dude has got to be out, long ago. Critic.

    Max
