"Is this the same Kin and Mary Jo Chin who lived in San Francisco and later served in the Northwest in the early 70's? He was Chinese/American and Mary Jo was a bubbly buxom blonde."

I don't think so. His name is Walden (he is Chinese/American) & her name is Mary Lou (she is blonde - but not buxom!) They are in their early 50's & have been in the circuit work for over 25 yrs. They were in Hawaii for awhile (like 8 years I think) They were also in the Chicago area.

Bro Lett was our CO when I was a teenager in Interlachen, FL. I later heard (while I was at Bethel) something about his troubles with the law - I think he fancied himself a Homeopath, and "treated" some of the bros & sisters in his travels. He always had very strict vegetarian or vegan eating habits that HAD to be adhered to when he was visiting.

Bro Sinutko was our version of JR Brown (those of you who know JR know what I mean). Dynamic speaker - one of those rare points in a conv or ASSembly program when folks were actually awake & listening! :)

In Florida, we also had another Bro (can't think of his name - help me out, Joelbear!), whom my little brother & me SWORE was an animatronic robot, escaped from Disney World's "Hall Of Presidents"! He moved, and spoke, just like something not quite human...

    Hey Pubsinger,

I remember Brent Smith, vaguely. Wasn't he a Yorkshireman? I must have been a teenager when he was a CO in our circuit.

I greatly disliked Alan Stokes, who was very pompous and like to belittle people.

Noble Bowers was a DO who used to point out kids tripping off to the toilets during his talks. He also complained about the state of some of the cars in the Dudley Assembly Hall parking lot as being too rusty and a disgrace. (Not mentioning that many JWs scraped by on low incomes and weren't provided a "company" car like COs and DOs)

Long thread hey! It has taken 9 pages before anyone I knew got a mention.

    Amnesian said about Howard:

He and wife have been in the traveling work for many years and have seen and are aware of much that is despicable in the organization and are very distressed at a lot of what they see and know is going on.
Well, after what you said, I feel bad about what I said about the guy! Anyway, what you said got me to think: How many of these CO's and DO's 'tow the company line', as it were, on the stage, when privately they may be experiencing some very serious doubts of their own? I'd be curious to know how many of them own a copy of Ray Franz' book (secretly, of course).

Anyone care to venture a guess? 30%? 50%? More?

Hi Thirdson. Aye Lad eee bye gum Brent Smith was a Yorkshireman from Sheffield no less, I didn't actually dislike him, he just had a bee in his bonnet. He was an entertaining speaker too.
I remember Noble Bowers too. He finished up with a cushy job as Hall Overseer ( ok caretaker! why do they have silly titles for simple jobs?) at Hellaby Assembly Hall near Rotherham. His first wife died about 15 years ago and he married a sister about 30 years younger than himself about 6 months later. Hey, I can say now what everyone was thinking at the time but daren't say! THE RANDY DEVIL!!! Good on him I say. I think he died a few years ago but I might be wrong. I still would like some info on William and Ann Heath anyone?

Paul Ruggles worked/owned Miami TrimLine years ago.

About 10 years ago, he ended up in Myrtle Beach, SC, owning/selling franchises for a mobile paint auto repair (at dealership level) company.

I asked my husband if he ran one of the companies himself. My husband's response: "He never did a damned thing himself. Always got somebody else to do the work."

    Sounds like middle management, eh?

Anyone remember and/or know what happened to Ken and Irene Huckaby? Served as DO in SE Michigan - late 70's - then moved to California...Also Leonard and Lisette Schmidt...CO - same area - same timeframe?
