You have given them a reason to hate you and to seek revenge.

No, the trick to understanding it knowing the fact the these people can demonstrate against and attack the US because they know we'll put up with this shit. Why didn't Saddam have this problem? After the mass killings of his own people, the torture rooms and stealing billions of dollars from them, his own people still didn't rise up against them. On the other hand, US forces are building schools, hospitals and have held back from retaliating against the people of Iraq, yet we still have a look of bullets flying. Why? I think people need to ask 'does the average Iraqi want US troops to root out the bad guys or does he want things back to the way they were?'

I said in a previous post that Iraq may well be an example to other countries that the US will attack anyone whom they deem to be a potential threat (pre-emptive war). Well, Gadget (I hope you don't mind) just posted this cartoon that conveys the idea so much better (it's at http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/25/69324/1.ashx ):

Actually, the Iraqi's did rise up against him. Unfortunately, the US administration of the day (led by Bush snr) destroyed the arms dumps that they needed to successfully oust Saddam, thus condemning them to death at his hands. I guess Saddam was better kept in place because it provided a reason to be there.

Just another reason why they don't like you and don't trust you, whatever few buildings you put up.

Ah, yes, the famous Kurdish uprising. Again, I must have missed the support around the world for these people and the protests when Saddam gassed these people. And, yes, shame on Bush Sr. for abandoning these people. Glad his son is finishing the job, unlike his father.

Few buildings? Check out the link below. Those, poor Iraqis and then mean U.S. Army.

We all live on the same planet. Everyone is affected if the world is destabilised by fundamentalist nutcases.
