We all live on the same planet. Everyone is affected if the world is destabilised by fundamentalist nutcases.

True or no, that is the exact impression that we ALL get from the good ol' united states. It's too bad, really. Lots of nice people down there, and it's a beautiful free country.

It makes me sick to see the news stories f Iraqui's dragging bodie4s in the streets, desecrating them. Also, the nightly news story of a soldier killed. Sickening.

Bush just didn't think of the consequenses on the other side of the coin. Frankly, I'm at a loss as to what he should have done after Sept. 11. Maybe just nothing.

No he did what any president would have done....went to War in Afghanistan and knocked the Taliban from power. All this Iraq stuff is just extra and takes the focus off of the ar against terror. Believe it or not...I don't think that is as big a problem for the US as it is for other countries. Really, you should see the federal buildings here....they are like fortresses, now. All that leads me to think an other countries really afford to make their goverenment buildings secure and at the same time have resources left over to secure the general public? I know the US can....but can other countries really afford to do it?

    bigboi,

And in the process infuriated the extremist religious nutcases. Very true.

He didn't shoot himself in the foot, he shot himself in the head. It's going to take years to repair the damage done. Hindsight is 20/20, though.

You sound like a democrat/liberal. Glad you're not president.

Well, there's always the legal method, you know show proof, take the terrorists to international court. Bin ladin would likely be in custody by now. Funny how the us military machine seems to have almost forgotten about him. Oh well, war is more fun, i suppose. Why kill chickens w an axe, when you can go duck hunting w uranium tipped tank killer rounds, laser guided bombs, moabs the size of a volkswagon, fly helicopters that see through clouds and darkness, drive ships that go 50mph while hauling 350 troops, etc etc?

Ah, yes. The Clinton method. Which worked SOOO well in stopping bin Ladin during his administration and after.

The bushwacky method of stopping/getting bin ladin hasn't worked either. Btw, bush totally ignored al queda until 9-11.

Simon, I know I don't need to apologize, because I always thought George Dubbya was a rotten little rat fink of a slimey pig swilling a-hole! LOL! And, I apologize to the animal kingdom for comparing him to them! My whole thought this whole time has been that Georgie wanted to one up his Daddy on Iraq.......Big Bush didn't get the job done, so he wanted to be able to say he did!

This is what's so funny about these so-called "conservative" partisans. They believe that Bush has been "tough on terror" and Clinton was "weak on terror". Since if anything the opposite is true, at some point it goes beyond simple ignorance, as they really seem to be interested in this stuff. At some point, you have to just think they really are idiots. God knows their "just let Bush do his tough guy routine long enough and the world will be a better place, we'll scare them bad old a-rabs into doin' right" strategy WILL f**k this earth up beyond all recognition. Shamus, not sure why you bring it 9/11 into the discussion of Iraq? the Iraq war had nothing to do with 9/11, except for the administration using 9/11 as a rallying flag to go to a war they wanted well before 9/11. It worked, and I suspect that "it worked" is exactly why it seemed natural for you to put "9/11" and "Iraq" into the same catagory of problem. The point is not that hindsite is 20/20 (afterall, it isn't 20/20 for blacksheep, she doesn't have any better hindsite than she does foresight, lol). That makes it sound as if no one could have done anything better using foresight. Simply not true.
