Is there proof of Evolution out there? help needed

i've faded, but i still would like to have faith in a creator/god.

but i am really not sure if my belief in god is the result of being brought up a jw and being stuck with a particular world-view.

the best thing i can do is challenge myself by reading some material that explains proof of the evolution, but i have not seen anything that does this yet, i've only seen explanations of the theory, not the proof.

The best thing I can do is challenge myself by reading some material that explains proof of the Evolution, but I have not seen anything that does this yet, i've only seen explanations of the theory, not the proof. For instance, what is evolutionists answer to the mathematical improbability of life arriving by chance? And what does the fossil record really say?

I am seriously open-minded about this. If it seems evolution is true, then God may still exist anyway and had a hand in it, which would make me agnostic. But if I don't buy evolution even after considering the evidence, that means I can have faith in God and be able to argue against evolution.

Either way, the main thing is knowing a little bit more of what's truth and what's not.

So I'm looking for serious suggestions of reading material. Please no highly biased stuff or 6-day creationism books.

i have a grandaughter that has told me that she loves satan and that he rules.

she draws awful pictures of dark clowns and writes die and kill on the side of it,.

i am afraid for her welbeing.

I'm no expert on these issues, but I was thinking the Satan thing might be designed to shock, a rebellion thing, rather than a sign of any mental illness or occult participation. Kinda like rock bands that put on a scary persona on the video when in reality they're just average joes.

If an opportune moment comes up, you could try asking her straight up questions, like "Why does satan appeal to you?". Ask in a neutral, interested manner, as if you're finding out about a stamp-collecting hobbie, and don't respond to her answers with shock or judgment. As a former JW who was brought up in the 'truth', I know there is nothing more off-putting than an adult who judges you, which we had a lot of as teenagers. Her fascination with satan may be a subconscious response to a feeling of unworthiness - ie, "I'm unworthy, so I might as well be really bad".

I'm sure she senses that you love her, if you keep listening to her and showing her interest and understanding, that is going to have a big affect on her, even if she goes a bit wild for a while, she will always know that someone in her family cares about her. Therapy can be a good idea but it's no substitute to family members who love her.

I hope it works out.

I don't know it either but it's given me a great idea for the borgs.

They should have a site that sends automatic bible-based 'reminders' emails to their work email address, kinda like "word for the day". They could open their inbox and get the days text. Then cyber-elder could ask questions and they could cut and paste the answer from the days text back to the elder.

Gee i am SO clever.

everyone enjoyed reading them.

That's a shame RR, I would have liked to read it. Do you know you look the image of a former PO in the local cong here? except he doesn't have a goatee.

It would be good if some funny clever person on the forum made up a bogus life story! I'm sure some of you are up to the challenge.
