Ford was not a real President. Presidents are elected, Ford fell into the position from appointment. He was never elected to anything in that chain. Had he been Speaker of the House and both Pres. and Vice Pres. been killed then he would have at least came from an elected poisition but Ford did not. He was only filling the office until a President could be elected. Therefore Bush is the 41st real president. What you are forgetting though is that Bush is a Moron and not very popular. The Wild Beast is much more likely to be someone like Tom Hanks. You know, the kind of guy you would be happy to let give your teenage daughter a bath, right after he checked your prostate.

Explanation to Bush as 42nd President
by Brownboy innumbering of the presidents.
you may have noticed that the numbering of the presidents on this site differs slightly from other sources.
the reason is because of the two non-consecutive terms that grover cleveland served in the late 19th century.

Who the hell was talking from the heavens when Jesus was baptized as a man,
The Father, Jesus is the Son not the Father. Thats hella simple.
and good lord, to say that Jesus was God in the flesh is to say that we were created by skitzo god with an identity crisis.
Actually you were created by Jesus (John 1:1-3, Col. 1:16-19) but God created everything without any help, (Isa 44:24) so you have a dilema if you deny Jesus' full status.
If Jesus is God then who ressurected the boy on the third day?
The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit. All three are credited with raising THE BOY and not one other that those three. (Sounds like something a dub would say.)
You dont get too many options with what Jesus is. He had a pre-existence. He cant be an angel (Heb, 1:8) nowhere is it said he was created. He uses titles that God uses, (The First and The Last), then calls himself Good and later says that no one is good but God alone, fulfilled prophecies that reffered to God (they look on me whom they pierced) and created all that was created, Shares glory alongside the Father. The list goes on and on. People would rather say he is not God than give him his proper status all because they are scared to have their God not fit in their little box.

Are JW's embarrassed by faith in Jesus?
by eyeslice ini think i posted the fact that i suddenly stopped attending all the meetings, field service and all, very suddenly.
not a single meeting this year.
i guess i would describe myself now as a sort of little toe guy, a liberal christian.. of course, i have had all the elder visits asking me how i am doing etc.

No they are not embarrassed of him. They despise him. To them he is an obstacle. He should be quickly acknowledged just enough to recap their position concerning him as a slaughtered lamb like in the OT when the priest made atonement and then relegated to the position of rule giver and angel of death when need be. And just remember, never under any circumstances eat the unfermented cakes or wine of his cup. That isnt for you. Trust us. You are too late for any of that business. In order to be a part of that you would have to have been one of the millions that weren't supposed to die or one of the millions that died from epidemics that could have been treated with a vaccine but knew better because it was satanic and such.

I sure hope "all dogs (do) go to heaven" because heaven should have at least one Jehovah.

Yes, I would say it is wrong to get drunk on purpose. Alcohol is toxic after all and it is wrong to be out of control. If you had some particularly tramatic experience (like a break up) I would say that is one thing as long as you dont go overboard, like puking.
I really try not to get drunk. I used to be a "drinker", if you will.
I would tie one on, "three sheets to the wind" as it were. I would drink every day. I wasnt an alcoholic but I could drink. In 2001 one of my co-workers would hear the things I was saying and said it sounds like you may have a problem. My response was "As long as it doesnt interfere with my work I dont have a problem."
This last year in 2003 I started drinking heavier more frequently. I felt my tolerance dropping. Perhaps its a sign I have killed enough brain cells. I would stagger into work and mutter to my manager "I gotta quit drinking." As I say this the walls are moving. I could tell I needed to tone it down. Finally I got a promotion. It was a rare thing for someone to be promoted so quickly. My first day working with the department head I had the worst hangover of my life. I never missed work for a hangover before. I missed a football practice once but never work.
I felt really guilty about that, just as a person and a worker. I let alcohol impede my job performance. I have made major changes to my drinking style as a result. I was tested this last week at a BBQ/party for coworkers. Getting drunk would be no big thing, it was a real celebration but I kept it in check. I drank but very slowly.
The only time I really need to throw back a few these days is if I break up with a girl or something like that.
If I get really drunk and am throwing up I do feel some guilt as a Christian but I have only gone to that point maybe twice as a Christian. I feel just as guilty about binging on food as I do about alcohol. I dont know why Elders Know it All and crew would penalize someone four or five years for him confessing to being inebriated out of concience sake whereas Brother Fried Ice Cream gets a pass.

The Truth About Christianity - Give your views
by Sirona inex- jehovahs witnesses often reject christianity based on what they were taught by the wts.
when i left jws it was difficult for me to see what christianity was all about - the non-jw version.
every time i picked up a bible, i could see the watchtower interpretation jumping out at me.

frankie,
It has been calculated to some degree that even nothing is something. Completely empty space void of all free particles, gravity and radiation has the equivalent mass of about one proton per cubic foot.

3 "Christian" Role Models
by Farkel inmany dubs and even ex-dubs consider charles dazed russell to have been a sincere, tolerant and kindly man.. he wasn't.. note what justice orlady of the superior court in russell v. russell, dated october 19, 1908 stated in chuck and maria's divorce proceeding:.
"after a careful review of the 150 pages of testimony in this case, we are satisfied that the verdict was fully warranted, and was rightly sustained by refusing the defendant's motion...".
(chuck had previously attempted to dispute maria's charges of cruel and domineering behavior towards her.).

Nathan Horror Knorr never consummated his marriage with Audrey.
If that is true, and a source on that would be nice, He was either gay, a child molester, a transvestite, adulterer, neutered or a chronic masturbator. I guess you can expect him to be absent from the New World, per Watchtower rules concerning the perfection requirement for those that know the law.

Biblical twist and brain wahing
by A Paduan ini have never been a jw, but i have read many versions of the bible, though not the nwt.
anyway, whenever i read / hear passages from it on this site, the language grates on me and i think to myself, "something's wrong here - this can't be right".
i just read this on another thread, and yes, it grated.

Their "excersise faith" thing is an attempt to say works = faith therefore works cause salvation. The problem is at Romans 10: 9-11 their translation rules require that they say "in the heart one exercises faith."
Thats a knockout verse, I forgot to mention it to Sirona when she asked

Armageddon Dreaming...
by Doubtfully Yours ini had this horrible nightmare a couple of nights ago which i haven't told anyone, fearing that they'll all conclude that it's my conscience warning me.
here's how i remember it:.
remember the biblical prophecy that mentions when christ comes back again "all eyes will see him"?

DoubtfullyYours,
I forgot to give you your props on that dream. Unfortunately it is too much of a stretch to believe scientists would actually explain away that sort of thing but with some adaptation that might make a decent low budget bible movie. With people sort of excepting the supernatural component but not caring after a while and things going business as usual. Say after maybe 8 or 10 weeks people start acting like there usual selves when they hear everyone else is still cheating on their spouse and people are still driving drunk and such.
