Our Watchtower Study On obedience & submission

yesterday we have a study of the watchtower about obedience and submission.

this study arose a lot of questions and heightened emotions in me and the interested retired judge sitting besides me.

we came accross the 9th pharagraph, page 28 of the april 1, 2007, where it says that: "it is easy to obey when everything is clear and we agree, but we will show that we are trully submissive if we yeild even when we do not personally understand the direction provided.

Since I was an elder and have not been to a meeting since the "Special Talk'' and have not turned in a field service report in 2 months, I had a conversation with my wife

about submitting to men. I told her I would never do it again. She said "You pay taxes. You obey those men, don't you?"

My reply: "Yes. And now I'll vote out of office whomever I think is an idiot. If we could vote on the GB members the same way, I might listen to them."

The conversation did not end well.

These last two articles really have shown up this bunch for what they really are.

They're EVIL, man. EVIL.

i've been gone for a long time and just check in from time to time but i had to comment on this.. .

"Field Service" is a joke. And with gas over 3 bucks a gallon, a more and more expensive joke.

What, as a dub, are you going to tell people anyway? "Hi. We are here to not convert you. We are letting our light shine. If you don't

become a JW you will be vaporized at Almight God's impending day of judgment. Please listen to us as you will be one less decomposing

corpse to bury. Yes, we will get the burial detail causee we don't have any connections at headquarters. But it's all sacred service. Hey, you can be on

burial detail with us and not as corpse!--- if you listen to us. May we come back next week and discuss this glorious prospect some more?"

They want you to stay in the ORG. They don't care about your happiness. This is the same reason they don't want their young going to college.

And then when they marry "only in the Lord" and end up miserable because of their uninformed choice (how wise a choice can a teenager make?) they

then tell them that Jehovah wants you to stay married. He NEVER promised happiness in this world! How dare you try to be happy! Stay with your abusive, lazy,

braindead, WTS parasite cause that'll make God's heart glad.

These people are evil man. EVIL.

New Light Coming?

hi - i have jw friends (really!

) and have gone to kh for some talks and study every couple of weeks.

things like the new watchtower policy, selling buildings (i am from nyc and know the heights well - that will make a boatload of money), the sex abuse settlements, drop in membership and donations, and some of the changes i have seen in the magazine (the annointed qfr, for example).

I remember when they started using color in the publications. My family made a big deal about it, like it was some sign of God's blessing that Nathan Knorr discoverd red, blue and green.

The dubs like change. They love to hear "new truths". Only the dubs will prefer to discard a long held belief with its "sameness" for a new belief and its "newness."

Does anything change because of it? No. But it helps the WTS control what the dubs talk about it. They get to drive the agenda. They get to keep being "indispensable" to the lives of

their millions.

Thank you for your excellent dissection of this spirit-directed drivel.

Most of the people at the WT Study will parrot this info. and have not a clue as to how dishonest the WTS is in their applications of these scriptures.

And always the "imperfect men" routine. Yet they make no such allowance for ministers in other churches.

The truth is the GB doesn't want any Rank and File witness making waves about the idiotic and sometimes criminal performance of the "men" whom they "appoint."

Why don't they tell the rank and file that in court cases these "GB appointmented" men are represented to be "unpaid volunteers"? Which are they?

I was one of these "appointed men" and let me tell you, the way you're treated by the branch is definitely more as an "unpaid volunteer" that resembles, in their estimation,

a mushroom.

what if the watchtower is correct?

would you regret leaving god's organization, knowing that you had it?

If you could ask an elder your questions

what question do you want to ask or have you asked that would stump or have stumped an elder?

i'm in the position where my mom wants me to come back and wants me to have my questions answered (even though she has dodged most of mine) so that i will once again see its the truth and want to return.

so i'm going to set a meeting with an elder to see if he would be willing to attempt to answer some of my questions to prove to me beyond a doubt that i'm in the wrong.

Elders are NEVER to be trusted. Their loyalty is to the WatchTower Fuhrer. Those with integrity and human decency, resign. I did.

jehovah is such a righteous, merciful, loving god -- slow to anger, overflowing with loving kindness and blessing.

yet it somehow bothers many of you that he will shortly execute his judgment on mankind and wipe out 99.9% of the world's population, as if that somehow is supposed to conflict with his loving qualities.

personally, i have no idea why many of you feel this way.

a jw once said (more than once, probably) in regards to members of other faiths, "they don't even know what they believe!

" i know that's a legitimate quote from a real jw because i'm the one that said it.

i often found that the people i met in field service would claim to be a catholic or a methodist or whatever, but wouldn't have a clue about the beliefs of their church.

Very true. JW's DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY BELIEVE. I mentioned to my wife this week that the FDS demands submission as a condition to salvation and she was adamant that

that wasn't true. She had gone to the Watchtower study and I specifically called out the paragraph to her where they said it was a "christian's sacred duty" to obey the FDS.

She insisted that wasn't what the paragraph meant, even though it was clearly one of many paragraphs in the same study article demanding, although with sophistry and subtlety,

obedience from the flock to them if the flock wanted salvation. I could so clearly see the brainwashing. It was frightening. I had to beg off from our chat because I was so stunned. I had

thought I was making progress.

The Narrow Road

the wts claims that the narrow road christ spoke of was the "one true" religion that many would forsake in exchange for all the "false" religions which are.

are "permissive" and teach "god dishonring lies.".

i always accepted this as a dub.. do any of you think it is possible that the "narrow" road is in fact the abandoning of all man made religious systems and the taking on for one self.
