  hello folks,.

  i decided to start a new topic and introduce myself.

  then rattle on about a few things too.. bare with the long intro.... i have already made a couple of posts and before i go on any further i decided to introduce myself to you all.. my name is nick and i live in canada.

  Contradiction or new light ?

  in the wt dated 1st of april 2004, last page, there is an article entitled "should we invoke the angels ?

  " (sorry, it is my own translation, because i have the magazine in french).. the article specifies that "the bible reveals only the name of two faithfull angels : mikael and daniel.".

  in the next paragraph, the society declares "that angels are not intercessors who bring our prayers before god's throne.

  my wife is really starting to transition out of the wts.

  this has been a happy time in both of our lives.. while things have peaceful at home - her somewhat abrupt departure appears to have raised eyebrows with her 2 jw syblings.

  so much so that they are starting to plant their own seeds of doubt into her head.

  from reading your research, which is wonderful, i'm confused about what moses was trying to say in exodus.

  question: why are humans worth more than animals?

  ok putting religious reasoning aside what is a rational reason why humans are viewed worth more than higher animals?

  why is a human worth more than lets say a chimp, a pig or a cow?.

  neurophysiological studies show that animals suffer probably just as much as humans....but similar to little children they cannot understand the pain and express it as human adults can.

  the biggest thing i never understood about the jw religion was the grand scheme of things.

  satan and jehovah will battle at armageddon, and jehovah will win.

  now, if satan is a spirit creature who was created perfect, who the hell is jehovah to say that he's going to win?

  if you look close, and use a little imagination, you can make out the "three wise men" there on the left, and joseph and mary on the right.

  of course the brightest, pulsating "star" above them all is the "star of bethlehem".

  i have collected sayings, homilies, whatever along the way that crystallize something bigger i learned.

  i will post a few every day.
