  ...there is no end and much devotion to them is wearisome to the flesh.

  why do none of the dubs clue in that this points to them more so than any other religion and is a major cause of all the burn out in their religion?

  It would be interesting to see what the original Greek word translated to "books" really meant. It's nice to lob verbal gernades at the JWs for their "making of many books" but for every book they make they make a cagillion ragazines. Me thinks taking the scripture too literally is falling into the same trap the witlesses are known for. carmel

  im an atheist and i like the idea of being an athiest but its kinda hard

  im an atheist and i like the idea that comes with freedom of though and analytical thinking that follows being atheistic vs having a religion im just kinda in a jam because i need to try and find something to completely lose the thoughts in the back of my head that say what if im wrong and i "suffer" because of it.

  i feel that if i can find something to destroy these thoughts i can be alot more comfortable with my views and opinions.

  anyone have any thoughts on what i should do.

  Fanatical farcical religion has recruited more agnostic and athiests than all the humanist propaganda ever conceived. You need to follow your heart and mind and be open to new paradigms as any good scientist would advise. Clearly the majority of what is offered up on the plate of religion turns the stomach and makes the head hurt. You might be surprised to find that amongst all the fertilizer is a green plant or two worth examining. Remaining an agnostic is not a bad position to take. Why jump one way or the other when you have so much time and life to experiance. be well carmel

  RECENT REVISIONS TO THE KH DRESS CODE?

  i was told by my former book-study conductor recently that a new 'dress code' had been handed down by the wts, because people had been 'getting too casual' with their styles of clothing.

  one item he mentioed was a new rule for women prohibiting denim skirts.

  and, when a woman wore a denim jacket, she was also told this was not appropriate for the kh.

  My wife became a US citizen yesterday!!!

  yay!

  for all of you who say america sucks.... i want you to go down to your closest immigration office and witness a citizenship ceremony.

  i watched yesterday all day long as people from all over the world were sworn in as citizens 100 at a time every hour on the hour.

  From one who has had the privilage of living in America and traveling to twenty other countries in the world, America has many qualities and opportunities that no other country seems to have, yet there definately are other countries that have avoided some of the blunders of which we have to take ownership. Few countries have the crass materialism and self righteous attitude that plagues the American psychie. We've managed to lead the world in material persuits but often on the backs of millions of inhabitants of third world countries that just happen to have the resources we want and the dictators willing to do business with us. But, thankfully the awareness of that is gradually sinking in. There is hope yet for us! carmel

  First Time Blood Donor

  there is a blood drive at work this coming tuesday.. i'm scheduled for 10:00am and this will be my first donation.

  does anyone have any suggestions to make it successful?.

  i volunteered about 2 years ago but got sick the day before and so i was declined.

  I've been donating blood all my adult life. At one time I had five one galon pins. Lost them in the move to Isreal several years ago. Now I'm back up to three working on my fourth since then. Just remember to hydrate well at least a day in advance and afterwards too. Otherwise you are prone to dizziness and even blackouts. Prevents the weakness that some experiance... OJ is a great one afterwards. It gets suger into the blood quickly. carmel

  How do you know if you're in love?

  to be honest - i've never loved anyone - i'm talking about the romatic type here.

  i have liked & been attracted to people....but love, nope.

  i have no idea how to identify it.. looking at people in "so called" love today can be a bit deceptive, as what i have seen and still see to a great extent is 2 people .

  the false prophet is not like the mistaken scientist or misguided philosopher---just a person in error.. the false prophet is either a deceiving imposter or a self-deceived victim of his own pathology.. any who would identify themselves as "prophet" is laying claim to a special agency of communication beyond the powers of mere mortal man.

  what credentials must such a person obtain?

  what makes them special above all others.

  Terry, You are certainly entitled to your opinions as am I. I would add that there are three possibilities not just two. I call them the three L's. Anyone claiming to be God's vicegerent is either a 1. Lier, 2. Lunitic or 3. Lord. I know you discount the third possibility, but then it seems you've limited your investigation and extrapolated from there to your conclusions. Not too scientific, but hey, at least you've gone beyond only looking at your JW past as a reference point. Still, it's not too unlike a politician pandering to special interest groups. cheers, carmel
