Friends - Too Little, Too Late?
by troubled ini posted this onto a previous thread, but wanted to start it on a new one as well.
as jws, we lack the "social outlet" all humans need, to have true friends one can speak openly and honestly with and not be afraid of judgmentalism.
what i've seen firsthand is that the "nucleus" of the congregation often has this need filled: elders, ms's, pioneers, and their families often do things together.

still resisting!
by Kat_ inthis is my first time on a message board relating to anything jw.
i haven't posted anything in the past because i still held to the fear that it would be betraying what i was taught, betraying my family, betraying god.
this is precisely my life as it is now.

she was involved with armstrongism, some other cult i cant remember the name, and finally jws.
she would take me with her to "bible studies" and i would listen.

there are good people in this world!
by cathy4school ini strongly believe that friendship should be true and honest with no conditions attached to it.
if a person is a good person and lives according to the bible then what more could there be?
where a person chooses to worship doesn't make that person evil, what is on the inside of a person is what makes them special.

friends to no one
by cathy4school inwhen you are in the jw's you assume you have lots of true friends who will be there for you.
wrong!
nothing could be farther from the truth then that statement.

double standard with JW"S
by cathy4school ini would like to know a simple answer to a question of mine.
why is it that the jw's preach that adultery is a sin and that they believe that it is a bad thing when most of the time they people you talk to eventually have committed the sin and are then reinstated back into the congregation.
how can a person who tries to do what is right is ostracized and treated like an outcast simply because they are not baptized and they other who is baptized commits adultery and it then welcomed back with open arms?
