joint flareups... yeah I get those. I also had open heart surgery 3 years ago to replace a leaking valve... would be dead by now for sure if I didn't have that done, or lived in 1955. I figure I have 25 more years left until I die unless medical science improves drastically.

bad day, bad year
by Cygnus inspent all day today downtown being shuffled around to this building and that trying to get temporary assistance.. what a nightmare.. everyone tells you something different.
and it's so humiliating.
i didn't work my ass off for 17 years for this.. it's just very hard to think of losing my fiance, my house, my job, my cars, the use of my hands, electricity and heat, all in 8 months.

Brett Favre question.....................
by HappyDad inok............i'm happy that my pittsburgh steelers beat greenbay yesterday, but i need to know something that has been bugging me for years.. and i know that many intellegent jwder's would be able to answer my question.
would someone p-u-l-l-e-e-z-e tell me the correct pronounciation of brett's last name.
it is spelled...........favre but i have never heard it said any other than farve.

The correct pronunciation is Fahv-ray but it morphed into Far-uvh because nobody could accept or understand Fahv-ray. There's a street in my locality (and old congo territory) called LeHavre and every Witness pronounced it Lay-Harvh.
"What's Brett Fah....ver....ray..... doing here?" ben stiller, lol

Thanks again guys. I'm not asking for anything but a little sympathy I guess. And if my cable or electric gets shut off and I disappear, that's why.
Otay, what screen name did you use? Yeah the yahoo room could be a real mess. Opposers of JWs would come in there and rant and rave about the most retarded things, so I decided to start defending JWs and had them tied in knots as well as very frustrated. It was a lot more fun than being an apostate anymore. And those who knew me generally kept quiet to watch the show. I don't do any chat rooms any longer as my typing is atrocious, as I have to hover my hands over the keyboard and let them drop hoping my pointer finger hits the right keys, which is about 50/50, my backspace key is probably gonna give out soon.

Utopian society = no interracial marriage
by coolhandluke ini love women.
tall, short, thick, skinny, brown, yellow, red and all shades in between.
i even love the green women on the original star trek.

I have two white uncles who married black women. My best friend in the JWs was white and also married a black woman. He got a lot of shit from it. I personally have no problem with interratial marriage, but black women turn me off. Caty is a ghost-white red-head irish girl, that's my taste.

Well, the Apocalypse says itself it is presented in signs. Sorta how Jesus admitted he was speaking to the disciples in figures of speech (Jn 16:25) and thus using John 14:1-3 and saying it means believers go to heaven when they die (even though the word heaven is not there) is kinda jumping to conclusions. I think it's a bad idea to derive doctrine from Revelation, other than the very clearly stated ideas, like the ones given to the 7 churches.

May I take this opportunity to voice my allegiance to the tetragod. May he bless me as he sees fit. Amen and amen, yea verily!

Thanks, Simon, for saying that. I don't want people to think I'm betting away my life's savings (which is $0.00). I appreciate you recognizing that the game is not all luck.

Jehovah's Witnesses Deserve To Be Persecuted
by metatron inlet's say it plainly, for once.
jehovah's witnesses deserve to be persecuted.. at one time, jehovah's witnesses suffered terribly in germany and communist countries - but that was a long time ago.. right now, the watchtower's minions are slyly preaching to circuit assemblies about the importance of shunning their ex-witness.
relatives.

I have a hard time getting behind legislation that would ban JWs. It's my hope that education and lack of $ will be the religion's downfall.

jehovah witnesses is not a religon it is a cult

dude, JWism is stupid and totally wrong, but like PT Barnum said, there's suckers born every minute. It'll find a way to keep going. How it will is the interesting thing.
BTW, did you get your name from The Big Lebowski? Is it ok to call you El Duderino if I'm not into the whole brevity thing?

Is the 144,000 persons mentioned in Rev 7:4-8 literal or symbolic
by trem ini know that this may have been treated before but i still need your valuable suggestions.. rev 7:4 says "and i heard the number of those who were sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the sons of israel", veses 5 to 8 provides additional details that 12,000 were selected from the 12 tribes of israel.
the book of numbers 1: 20-42 lists the following as the 12 tribes of natural israel: reu ben, sim eon, gad, judah, is sachar, zeb ulun, e phraim, manas seh, benjamin, dan, ash er and naph tali.
however, rev 7:5-8 did not list the tribes of ephraim and dan but instead listed 10 approved tribes with 2 non approved tribes of levi and joseph.

I just want to say I really like reading Joseph's, Nark's, and Leolaia's posts. How refreshing they are in comparison to the kingdom hall. You guys are the best. :)
