As a rational, I fall in with Elsewhere. They're as deluded as anyone else that believes in the supernatural. I neither fear them nor trash them.
It's opinion, folks--take it for what it's worth (hint: very little.)

Satanists, do you fear them or trash them?
by greendawn inare you afraid of the power of occultists and satanists?
do you think their magical arts can truly harm people?
or are you confident that their power can easily be neutralised by reciting biblical verses or by wearing a crucifix?

Are regular publishers more genuine in their dealings with others?
by truthseeker inhaving been in a few congregations, i have observed that those with nothing to prove are often the most genuine people.
that is, brothers who aren't apointed seem to have more to say and are more interesting to talk to.. those who have position seem to have little to say other than repeat wt mantra.. with regular publishers, particualrly those who didn't reach out, i often found that they were just themselves, with no pretences.. is this something you have noticed?.
my friend asked me last week, do weal publishers attract weak publishers?

Like any other group of humans, there are the good ones, bad ones, and (the vast majority) indifferent ones. The statement "regular publishers are more genuine in their dealings with others" cannot be supported.

Nosferatu, you put a lot of effort into that and it made me lol. Especially about Ian, God's other son, poor bastard. Jesus was always the favorite.
Just wanted you to know. -

Overheard at the Book Study
by under_believer inhere are a few comments that i overheard at this week's book study (of the third chapter of the bible teach book), and the thoughts i had after hearing them: .
conductor: "as food shortages become more and more common as the time of the end advances, they will make excellent field service points since they were predicted by the bible.
me: great.

Whats really ridiculous is being kicked out and still hoping it all turns out for them.
This isn't ridiculous. It just means you're a nice person. I found your comments moving because I, like you, feet true pity for them. And who's to say that they'd be better off without their illusions?
Is the person deriving benefit from a placebo better off knowing that it was just a fake sugar pill, and no longer getting the benefit of the placebo effect? I don't know.

Hello, person whose name I appear to have aped but who has much more seniority than me.
I am nobody and my opinion counts for nothing. Nevertheless I offer it. Take it for what it is, a worthless opinion. Your mileage may vary.
In simple terms, RUN LIKE HELL. This individual is very controlling and is attempting to dominate and control you. You have an established career and support network. This person is trying to completly rip all of that out from underneath you and make you completely dependent on him. If you accept his offer and give into his high-pressure tactics, you will be completely at his mercy and totally under his control in every way.
Maybe he's a nice guy, but the way you say he's treating you leads me to believe that he's not. Nice guys don't demand that women become totally dependent on them and leave everything they have ever known. I could be wrong, but it just feels off, to me.
Right now the ball, quite literally, is in your court. You are under no legal or moral obligation to have this fellow in your life. I suggest you use this to your advantage and set the terms yourself. Don't give up everything you have worked so hard to establish--your baby will be better off with a happy if busy mother and NO father, than with a desolated mother and an overly controlling father.
Again, it's just my worthless opinion. Please consider all avenues yourself before deciding. -

IF YOUR BODY MEMBERS YOU CONTROL
YOU MAKE KNOWN THAT THE TRUTH IS YOUR OWN
Well, I've definitely "mastered" them. Does that count?

How do you know Satan didn't write the Bible?
by seattleniceguy inthe standard christian story on the bible is that god wrote it to let us humans know what's going on, lay down some rules, and tell us how to get saved from our pitiful state.
as everyone knows, i don't buy any portion of this.
but i have a question for the believers.

Hey jw, remember that time you plagiarized the Society, and then lied about it? Also, most board moderators consider bumping long-dead threads as spamming or abuse.
