Triple A, I had read some anti-witness books but it strengthened my resolve to commit to dubdom. I was baptized before Crisis of Conscience came out. If I had read that, it might have been different. But I was looking for something to fulfill that which was missing. I really liked the sister we studied with, there was no Hell, a community, morals, the worldwide brotherhood - ah, ideals. Glen

Did you ever defend the Borg?
by dorothy ini remember when i first started studying i was always so quick to defend the borg if anyone said anything negative about them.
i didn't even have a reason to or had any business doing so because i was so new and didn't even really know anything about it.
and i absolutley refused to believe that they could be involved in child molestation, even going as far as refusing to watch the news shows exposing the real truth.

Oh yes, very much so. Especially at the beginning and honeymoon period. Quite arrogantly too. Looking back it was very much a "me thinks that I protested too much".

I sometimes think I study more about dubdom now than I did then. I found this piece. It's the Adventist environment that birthed dubdom. And in a qwerky way, I found it comforting to see Russell among his peers, just another non-prophet peddling papers. The Proclaimers book talked about some of these folk, but this shows the environment. Its theme is on Anglo-Israelism and a focus on Armstrong. Would a dub read this since it is not apostate, in the regular way? Or at least parts of it, it's about 50 pages.

The 15 minute rule - how long will its effects last?
by truthseeker init seems that there is an ever growing number of people who are still active and are handing in "bumped up" hours.
yet, i have never seen an article acknowledging this.
to my mind, nothing has been printed that counsels witnesses on lying about their hours.. and all these bible studies - do you really see them at the meetings?

Maybe there will be such as hooplah over counting time that the honest among them will conclude that it's all bulls*** and where in the Bible did that come from? It seems to me that all the statistics they keep prove what a lousy job everyone does. If it takes 4,000 hours to make a recruit then something has to be wrong with the math.

I go along with outoftheorg, I am no longer (if I ever was) a Christian and I have the WTS to thank for that. It drove into me that religion was the work of Satan. In some ways it's a shame that I didn't read the Millenial Dawnist people first - they're the ones who claim Rutherford to be the Evil Slave. He was.

A day that sticks in my mind was at a weekend (July 4th) gathering when I played All Along the Watchtower to Abaddon's lyrics, about a year after getting most of my Borg implants removed.
Am G F G (throughout)
All along, the Watchtower
Told a pack of lies
Broken hearts and promises
So much wasted time
