  who are the governing body?

  jehovah witness when mentioning "governing body" they say it like if they knew who these people are.

  i asked one jw to mentioned their names and couldn't answer me.

  so what is so special if they don't know the names, lives, background, of these people?

  Male Chauvanist Paradise

  as i read thread after thread here i really get the idea that for men and women who are really threatened by the modern world and who don't want to face each other as equals the jw seems ideal.

  the men run the show and have all top positions and the women run around and do most of the recruiting, so like someone said jokingly in another thread "there are two girls for every boy" since women can only study with other women.

  of course the guys at the top don't want to see this change, they think they've got a good thing.

  normally we do believe that allmentions about the internet.

  are negative...but as usual it depends from which side of the fence you're.

  More witness woman than men?

  is the ratio of jw women to men in america kept and freely known.

  do they have breakdowns by age?

  my guess is more ladies than gentleman, but i'm curious about the truth if it is known.. thanks,.

  How does one become a JW???

  every source i've looked at is very vague and my witness friends just keep encouraging me to stop asking questions and come to meetings.

  my sense is, since i disagree so much with jw doctrine and the way it is presented in awake and especially watchtower that i'd never make it as a jw.

  still i am curious what the process is and what "tests" if any one must pass.. any info will be much appreciated.. thanks,.

  Help - I'm in Love

  hi i work with a smart, sexy, single jw who i get a along with great and over the years i've developed enormous affection for her.

  based on this i don't want to do anything to hurt her.

  i am not a witness and though i would like to pursue her romantically my sense is if she were to accept my overtures it could ruin her life since her family is very involved in witnessing and close association with one such as me could lead to reprimands for her.. my question is this.
