I'm so sorry, and I also am speechless at the way you are being treated.

My wounds opened up badly today
by Maddie inthe past three weeks having been so stressful and very sad.
my ex husband died after being in hospital for just over a week in intensive care.. i was just 18 and he was 21 when we first met and after a whirlwind romance we married 6 months later and have two sons together who are now adults.
although our marriage ended after 25 years and i remarried 7 years ago, he was my first love and i knew him for most of my life.

Our death is no different than the death of an animal, the end result being the same for both. All is “all vanity” in death, for “all go to one place” and “all return to dust.” It does not matter what we might do now, this outcome will be the same for everyone unless the end comes first. This does not mean we have no hope beyond death, for we do in the resurrection.
I remember as a witness telling people who lost a loved one in death pretty much the same thing..In fact when my grandmother died a certain fanatical sisiter came to the funeral, stood me in front of the coffin and told me in no uncertain terms that she was dead, and would soon awaken after armageddon
yet since my Mom died back in September I have been attended a grief support group at the local hospital. Many who were in this group had no main religious belief, And as I listened to their stories, and situations I was struck by how different each one of them grasped the entire concept of death.
I would sometimes step back as an experiment, and revert to the JW mindset and think how they were wrong, and that there is only ONE condition of the dead,, the one that the WTS spells out.
As the weeks progressed i slowly began to realize how inhumane, and cold it would be to crush the hope that someone is leaning on at their difficult time. I remember the witnesses at my old hall cruising the obituary column of the paper, looking for people to write letters to and count it as FS time.
looking back, I see that there is a major part of humanity missing from people who do things like that, now I look at people who have lost loved ones as very fragile, and they no doubt reevaluate their beliefs and find great comfort in certain aspects of their faith.
having someone come along with a "My religion alone knows what the Bible says attitude" is very uncaring.
Something is emotionally missing from people who claim to be 100% right, and know everything that the bible says,,, It is a personal journey for each one of us.

Another 'gag me' email
by TJ - iAmCleared2Land infunny how these people think that jehovah will arrange for a backhoe to fill a basement, or a storm to knock down a tree that the city won't let you remove, but doesn't prevent his young servants from being sexually abused, or whatever.. (gag-me email follow).
does jehovah know what is going on, and does he help?.

This Thread Is For Elders & Those Affected By Them
by minimus inas an ex- elder, i can look back and see all the power and control we had as "shepherds".
when i was an elder i genuinely tried to comply with anything "mother" demanded of us.
i would reason that since "mother knows best", i would comply with the organization, even if it didn't quite seem so fair or right.. as time went by, i could not help but see the unfairness of soooo many rules and regulations.

There was an elder from my old hall, J. renfrow and man was he an idiot !
he had the reputation as the local pedophile because he was ALWAYS encouraging the young (under 17) sisters.
if you were a brother, he would ignore you totally unless you were pioneering with the goal of bethel service.
And guess what,, most members of the hall thought he was a total fool,, but he was a business partner with the PO (redman) and every single
one of his creepy traits was overlooked.
The good old boys club in action.

just like working with the witnesses !
by lancelink inyears ago when i was working pt and pioneering with the brothers in the trades i found it funny how they considered themselves "experts".
in their chosen trade, it could have been painting/window washing/plumbing/construction, etc.. this video made me laugh,, mainly for my experiences working with the witnesses !
this is so on the mark !.

Will FULL-TIME Pioneers/CO's/DO's Be REWARDED More Than Average Publishers?
by african GB Member injust wondering,...these "brothers" dedicate their lives jehovah,...surely jehovah should give them "preferential treatment!!!.
does jehovah "reward" his "servants" on merit/productivity?.
does he look "at the bottom line"...ie, who recruits more members?.

As a JW or Christian did you have a hard time explaining why God hasn't appeared in almost 2000 years?
by StoneWall infor the sake of less argument whether you're a believer or non-believer lets just for the moment say we can.
take the bible as it is in current form at face value.. i'm just going to cite a few examples of bible stories of god appearing and if we had been alive back then it.
shoulda been proof to all of his existence.. 1) leading the israelites out of egypt as a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire at night.. 2) the waters of the sea miracously parting and allowing the israelites to go thru on dry land.

I can't imagine any parents on earth today hiding their existence from their children and then getting mad at their
children for not finding them.
Wow that is an excellent point!
I've been talking to many religious people lately, and this should be a great discussion subject.
