How did you feel about 'fake' witnesses?

i'm sure you know the ones i mean ... they decided to have a family 'present day' on dec 26th each year so that the kids could announce what presents they got while the rest of us 'zealots' were getting the piss taken out of us.. at the time, i could not understand how or why they did it or got away with it - it seemed obvious to me that thwy were celebrating christmas and we were not supposed to.

but hell, what did i know ... i was only a kid ... not an elder .

now, i kind-a-think "yeah, do what's right for your kids" but also "you're not fooling anyone!

We didnt have a "present day" on Christmas but my family always took advantage of the holiday sales. We usually had a "Kids Party" in January where the all of the kids were given gifts from our parents which were probably half off items from the after Christmas sales.

To answer your question, my family was ULTRA fake and continues to be on a daily basis. No, I didnt like it and still dont, especially since they believe I am SOOO pagan and worldly. (Gagging noises)

Spousal Abuse Thoughts

i have been having an ongoing discussion with a friend about spousal abuse.

she has come to accept and believe that i have never hit a woman in my life, but feels that i am a rarity.

i contend that i am not, that although too many men still hit their wives, they are in the minority.

My mother is currently abused by her husband, who she married when I was a teenager. She wont leave him, although I have tried to help her. I was also forced into sex by an acquaintance when I was 15.

What I have seen and been through has has changed me. I am more cautious with who I associate with. I would have to say I definatly have issues with men and tend stay away from the overly aggressive type, even as friends. Although I hate to admit it, its out of sheer intimidation. I just cant bring myself to get too close to someone who overpowers me in any way.

What an jerk! So did you backhand him?

I have been in Green Bay with my kids and most of the players are more than happy to greet and sign autographs. It is sad when some of them get too big for their britches.

Oh and with Favre, I understand what you are saying but you cant make plays without taking chances. So he lost a few, I dont hold it against him. I wouldnt trade him just yet, you and I both know what hes capable of.
