I just recently unlocked my e-mail. I have only recently felt comfortable having it open. As wendy said, some are still "in" and therefore, yes, a little guarded about such things.
There are some folks here who have been receiving e-mails from me and sending me e-mails for quite some time. I've had no problems and in fact enjoy the correspondance very much.

I know of several instances in which the strongest criticism of inter-racial relationships came from practicing JWs.
here is the current list of former (some present) elders .
for over a year i lurked as an elder on h2o and this board.
for some time i feared i was the most evil appointed servant in the history of the organization for lurking here.
If I receive any e-mails from elders I am not going to respond. I regret providing my name for this "list".
as many of you know, eyegirl and i are sisters.
we also have a brother (no longer dub) who lives a few hours away from us.
today eye and i (love saying that) are making a road trip to our brother's to help celebrate his 30th birthday-this being the first party that all three of us will be at together celebrating one of our bdays.

as i went about my wifely duties today, i had a thought and would like the imput from some former brothers and/or elders, ms, po, co's.. since leaving the borg, has the way you view your wife/companion/daughter/sister/mother changed?
let me elaborate.
while being brought up a dub, i was taught that women were in subjection.
In my household things are more relaxed now since we are no longer as heavily involved in the jw religion. I always had felt that the constant reminders about 'headship' only served to increase tension in my household. My wife once, for instance, told me that she took exception to the 31st chapter of Proverbs, which she called a 'job description'. I told her that if she didn't like it she should join the NOW. I was an elder at the time and did not take kindly to someone questioning the headship arrangement. My response was extremely poor and shows the mentality I was in at the time. Though I was never the bossy type, the whole headship thing did have an effect on how I viewed matters.
I wonder, in a question that relates to this thread, if there are examples (I'm sure there are) of marriages that worked smoothly with regard to this until one or both became jws.(?)
like lots of readers here, i take an entirely unhealthy interest in the doings of our resident prophet you know.
i notice that he's not been around for a month or two and this is a time of year he loves, he's always prophesying something for october!

sorry i could not make this post ealier than this but things have been a little rough around our neck of the woods here lately.
where to start, my daughter was admitted to the hospital about 3 weeks ago with a kidney infection.
she stayed for a few days and the doctors were concerned that she may have had appendictis.

i had e-mailed her about two weeks ago and received no reply yet.
i have not noticed any posts from her in a while, though i could be mistaken.
yes, another e-mail I sent today was also kicked back and the recepient was "unrecognized". Odd, though maybe she has one of those accounts where you need to log in every so often.
It is interesting that she was planning to attend the march, and indeed perhaps she had to go in for more surgery.
