i've been lurking on here for weeks and thinking.... after seeing all the recent noose-tightening in wt rhetoric, it does appear that they are shooting themselves in the foot.

with the miserably low retention rate, burdened and uhnappy elders and the zombified elderly paralyzed in cognitive dissonance, it is inevitable that the numbers are going to dwindle sharply--and soon.

i predict that by 2014, there will be major doctrinal changes that make "overlap" look like a walk in the park.

So Sick About This "Rape/Scream" Thing I Could PUKE!

religion in general takes away enough human dignity as it is: born in sin, indebted to christ, worthless, imperfect, dirty, and in need of salvation.

watchtower takes it to a "whole-nutha level" for people in search of this salvation: hoarding the heavenly hope to a select few, demanding faith only by enough works (...and then only "probably you" may be saved), cock-blocking our way to christ by claiming he only mediates for them...etc.. in addition, their oral laws rob us of individualism, free thought, investment in future, healthy sex lives, education, free choice, association and emotional and financial stability.. any story of rape or molestation we read about uses one word when referring to the victim: innocent.

when a woman or young person is raped, we read that "their innocence was stolen" when that crime occured.

ok, so many friends of mine who i've managed to influence with my sith-lord corruption are attending convention this weekend.

i already attended some time ago.

i kept the program and took thorough notes, so i plan to properly time a well-prepared sms message to everyone's smartphone with diagrams and a link about endosymbiotic theory just as it's mentioned from the platform during the drama!

claims to "spend hours on the internet.".

recently became an ms after 3 yrs of reproof.. after a few months, stepped down and relocated.. expresses no interest in becoming ms again, calling me saying "count me in for paintball again.".

J-Dub Gossip: How Do/Did You Handle It?

perhaps the biggest fear i have of leaving is the ensuing gossip that will follow.

i know it's stupid to worry about what will be said about me once i'm "out," but it kills me inside.

of course, that doesn't mean that i don't already deal with my fair share of gossip as it is while still "in.

good evening, all.... still relatively new here so if i'm posting about a topic that's already been run into the ground, i apologize.

but i just wanted to acknowledge the typical "demo" we all see at meetings, assemblies and conventions.

even back when i was a good-goody teen dub, my brother, friends and i would jokingly refer to demos as "5-minute illustrations on how to say 'no.'".

ohhhh.... do i ever have loads of these stories!

i pioneered in the mid-90's (mostly out of guilt and fear and hope to pacify my parents before dropping the "i wanna go to college" bombshell on them, but i digress...) and i gotta tell ya, it was the most frustrating 2 years of my life!

at that time, there were over 20 of us as many my age recently graduated high school to "join the ranks" (as the co at the time said).

i've been reading this thread for some time and finally had the opportunity to create an account.

i am anxious to meet you all and have a support group/active audience over the next crucial months and years following.

background: long-time doubter, giving way to frustration and skepticism beginning about 10 years ago and finally to total admission that this is a cult and that atheism is the way to go.
