i've been thinking about changes in my world view lately and wonder if others have had a similarly subtle, yet profound, outlook on life.
not being a jw nor even a believer anymore has made a subtle change that ive observed.
to begin with, i read somewhere that people tend to bring their own standards to their religion.
How Have U Changed since Leaving?
For one thing, I only get dressed up for weddings and funerals now.
Not for 5 meetings a week.
I don't take anything as 'truth' without solid evidence anymore.
Try to be less judgemental than as a JW.
I also don't believe any one person or group has all the answers.
And we know as JWs, WE had all the answers. NOT!!!!!

I agree. The r&f JW are the ones that are giving the power to the WTS.
They are allowing the mistreatment of people by the WTS by keeping their mouths shut and BLINDLY following the orders of the WTS even tho many feel the WTS is wrong.
I think many have given up being real Christians and have become WatchTowerites.
That should be their new name because it does fit their way of worship.

last night, i returned from the chess club with my son to find my wife on the phone.
apparently the congregation secretary had phoned to get our time.
not wanting to disappoint him, she put us both down for two hours.. now, none of us have stepped foot in a kingdom hall since april 10, and we haven't been out in service since march/01.

i have always wondered something, what was up with the hard cover green bibles?
i ask, as it just seemed weird to me to have a bible with this kind of cover.
they always seemed to be everywhere too ... the new studies always had one.
Everyone HAD to have the green bible.
At least for awhile.
And then they came out with the black ones.
Funny thing is, once the black ones came out,no one used the green ones anymore.
I remember going to a meeting one time and I couldn't find my black bible so I brought my old green one.
I couldn't believe the looks I got.
It was like I was being blasphemous (spl?) for not having a black one.
Abd yet, for years they insisted that everyone use the green ones.
Strange indeed.

just wondering if this was only a localised event...but knowing the wts it mustn't be.... i heard thru fellow ex dub... that there was a big hoooohah talk about associating with disassociated and disfellowed jw's..everyone had "explained" to them the rules regarding"bad associations"...the wts stand on this is meant to be firming up even more.... my lovely jw sister, who by the way never wants to answer any queries, told me when i asked why the need for more policing, she said if i attacked her"faith" shed have to limit her "association" with me...i gave her a razzberry and said,.naaah... i am not ds'd or d'ad.. but she said that doesnt matter either...??
?it just seems like an extra excuse for emotional black mail to me... did anyone else hear of these talks..>???

actually, the us army is keeping me busy, but they've decided to promote me to the rank of sergeant first class with the corresponding $300.00 a month pay raise.

i cant help but think some of you guys are just tooooo angry for your past hurts.. weve all got terrible stories which can make us cry, but whats the motivation for such bitterness ?.
some people search out pervets, seemingly to lay these scumbags and their faults at the societys door.. others try to use thier bad times as an excuse to rubbish the entire religion.. i am not saying that jws are great, or that the society is perfect or undeserving of punishment.. but why are we not trying to even up the good points of the religion.. no smoking, no drugs, no abortion, on and on, and on.. and then try to remember the good times you all had at the meetings.
the laughs and the help you gave, and received.

As far as bitterness by those that have been fooled, abused, mistreated, lied about, lied to,ect...ect...ect, I think they have a very good reason to be so.
