Question #3 "What will you say?"
by ozziepost inall irregular and inactive publishers will be pleased with the heartwarming news that april will see a special campaign by the elders to encourage you.
yes, don't faint, it must be true because the april kingdom ministry says so.
in fact, so strong is the forecasted encouragement, that it states on paragraph 25 of the insert article:.

How can you get more?
by ozziepost inthe headline on the april kingdom ministry reads: "how all who attend the memorial on april 8 can benefit more fully".. notice the expression "more fully".
how does this gel with our scriptural hope of salvation?
by coming to the memorial and sharing in it we "keep proclaiming the death of the lord, until he arrives.

Don't they need the Holy Spirit?
by ozziepost inyou may always have believed that the preaching work was directed by jesus, who in his parting words to his disciples said: .
"all authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth.
go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things i have commanded you.

Be there, or else!
by ozziepost inthe march issue of kingdom ministry includes a novel way of encouraging meeting attendance.
in the insert article "april - time to 'work hard and exert ourselves'", it states in paragraph 6 that "we must also 'hear what the spirit says to the congregations' by being in attendance at all five weekly meetings.(rev.3:6)".
this is a misquotation of course.

Who's to blame?
by ozziepost inwhen viv mouritz , former branch coordinator in australia, addressed the special meeting of sydney and surrounding area congregations at the superdome last weekend, he blamed the young witnesses who were leaving "the truth" for the drop in numbers in australia.. at the service meeting this week in one sydney congregation it was announced by a bethel elder that the elders have been told (as if they didn't know already!
) that 2,000 have left "the truth" in the past two years in australia.
this typical congregation of 120 publishers has lost 19 inactive since 1999.. the march 2001 issue of kingdom ministry (australian edition) gives the number of publishers for december as 58,426, pioneers 3,315 and 19 baptized.. in dec '98 there were 58,706 pubs, and in dec '99 there were 58,000.. with 1,600-1,800 being baptized each year, there is indeeed a 2,000 shortfall.. so, who's to blame?

A Spiritual Paradise
by ozziepost inthe watchtower of march 1st contains a secondary article entitled: what is the spiritual paradise?..
the article tells us that a spiritual paradise is an environment that is pleasing to the eyes and soothing to the nerves, allowing one to enjoy peace with ones fellowman and with god.
we are told, however, that a spiritual paradise is not for everyone; it is found in association with jehovahs witnesses.

Wisdom Personified
by ozziepost inthe next time a householder says to you: everyone has his own interpretation of the bible, how will you respond?
perhaps you will use the suggestion from the reasoning book (page 65) you might reply: and obviously not all of them are right.
you might add: twisting the scriptures to fit our own ideas can result in lasting harm .
