Fred Franz....List the 'crimes'!

after reading all your interesting thoughts on my other posting regarding fw, i would be fascinated to learn what you all regard to be among his worst 'crimes'.

would it be the 'refinements' on blood, a debate which goes on to the present, his views on transplants, or would you debate the true scholorship of his greek translations?

i recall reading somewhere that in his lifetime fred franz was listed as one of the most intelligent men in the usa.

can anyone think to what i am referring?

Did Christ start a cult?

if we say that jw's, mormons, etc.

are 'cults' because they are not affilated with any 'mainstream' religious organisation, and that their founder is a man who becomes a sort of figurehead, could not the same be said of the organisation founded by christ?

at the book study conversation turned to the importance of numbers and their symbolic use in bible texts.

the elder leading the study stated that he believed the number 7 was of such vital importance, that when the great crowd number 7,000,000 and the remnant 7000 the end will come.

any thoughts?

i am fascinated to know who left the wtbts simply because they felt they possessed the heavenly calling?

things said at funeral

some weeks ago i attended the funeral of a jw sister.

the service was taken by a brother who claims to be of the anointed, although he holds no position in the congregation.. at one point he looked directly at one of the elders in attendance and said, pointedly, "it does not matter what religion you claim to belong to.

you could be catholic, lds, adventist, jw, or even the pope himself, but if you do not demonstrate love as jesus did you are not a true disciple and will not benefit from the biblical hope of ressurection.".

GB Child molesters! Where's the proof??

i've read with great interest the allegations that five members of the governing body are child molesters.

where is the proof, because if this is true it is the ultimate answer to the 'prayers' of every member of this site, one way or the other.

in a discussion of allowing godly principles rather than laws rule your life, para.

15 states, "following bible principles, we will avoid trying to live (or demand others to live) by an extensive and rigid set of do's and don'ts that go beyond the teachings of the bible.".

i've read on this site many times that jw's are ruled by man-made rules and regulations relating to all sorts of stupid topics.

could someone give me a workable explanation of tartarus and how and what jesus preached to the imprisoned spirits there?

and while i'm in 1st peter, what is the meaning of 1 peter 4:6 where the message is to be declared to the dead?

i know what i think, but i'd love your opinions.
