Of course high school was terrible boring. I had many talents that I ended up not cultivating, due to jws teaching. I didn't go to the prom only because it wasn't my kinda thing. Soon I will get to relive high school when I go to my ten year reunion this fall. What fun!

High School Days
by Dimples inhigh school is supposed to be one of the most memorable years of your life.
i had fun in my high school days, as i didn't become a jw until after i was married and had a child.
those of you who were born into the borg, your high school days must have been boring.

I can reflect back on all the friendships I culitvated with people over the years. Our bonds were so close that I considered many to be my biological brothers and sisters. Not all the witnesses were self absorbed. Many reached out to help me in my times of depression. I will always be so grateful to those people. You KNOW who you are!

I am sorry you are not feeling well. Did your doctor rule out a trapped nerve? Reason I ask is because You can easily get a headache from nerves becoming trapped or impinged in your neck or at the base of your skull. I treated conditions like this in the past. It sounds more like a musculoskeletal problem. You may want to get an evaluation from a physical therapist as they are many treatment modalities that may help you if your problems persist.

I honestly feel that he will only get a slap on the hand. Proabation is calling. He has the ability to buy his freedom which is very sad.

WATCHTOWER WORDS
by minimus init is true that jehovah's witnesses have their own language.
an "outsider" might not have a clue to what certain words might mean.
for example, "the truth"-----if a person heard that expression, they would never have connected it to only the jw religion.....can you think of language that is exclusive to "watchtower" world??

We are no part of this world. Sounds too dumb. How can you live in this world and not be a part of it?

does anyone remember being a child as a JW and not having holiday?
by franklin J ini am curious to know how many others shared the same experiences as me as a child, growing up as a jw.. surfing this board has brought back a flood of memories ( i am secure enough to deal with them) not all good.
i have been away from jws for sometime, and remember being a child in school and having to explain why i do not salute the flag, why i have to leave the room when there is a birthday or christmas party, why i had to explain when i was seen going door to door ( i grew up to be a pioneer).
being "different" is hard for a child.. now that i have 3 children of my own, who are fortunatelly not growing up as jw, to see how secure and well adjusted they are in school is comforting.

Well the holdiays were not big deal to me. If anything is was just a normal day. I would get heated when I would get sent to the princpals office for not standing during the flag salute. Every week I would be at that office explaining my beliefs. Not only was I a minority in the literal sense by being the only black child in an all white school, but I had to prove I was different. I felt like a freak out of nature.

Embarassing moments you witnessed?
by starfish422 in.
not yours; but those of others you had the good fortune to watch happen.
my favourite is the time we had the co and his wife for lunch after field service, and my mum swore in front of them.

I wil never forget when our congregation was called to baptismal pool to view the baptisms from our congregation. There was a sister who was known to wear wigs. I don't understand why she felt she had to wear her wig in the pool, because when she came up from the water not only was her wig floating in the pool but she was bald. I felt bad for her but I was like was did you expect?
