if descendants of rich plantation owners are rich and this pisses off any negroes; sue those people. it is not the responsiblity of the public in general to pay for personal beefs.

Coming beneath my bttt, huh Waiting? As a rule, not a good place to be... I'd be mighty careful if I were you.

Sad story. We'd be here all day telling similar ones if we wanted. Tell me... do you think the jury awarded him such a measly sum because of his race? And let the errant doctor off for the same reason? Be careful... remember where you are!!

    Howdy tj,

I answered your question within my first post.

Imho, it was because the jury knew about the hospital & other surgeons settlement for the daughter. After all, she will be cared for.....and that seems a suitable amount for a young black man. - waiting

White: Judge (who said he would grant a new trial), Black woman's attorney, 10 or 12 jurors, and surgeon.

Black: Dead 22 year old man, his mother, and 2 jurors.

However, please notice that the judge and attorney were white and in total disagreement with the jury.

My son (who works for this attorney during the summer) said that the attorney has trained his people well - no tears from his team in front of the client or jury. The mother fell apart, and they helped her out of the building, shared coffee, etc. Then, after she left, they slammed books, cried, and started planning again.

As for the black man who died so needlessly - and painfully? Part of the problem will be to raise his value to the next jury.

I guess I'm still waiting for the Naeblis-drahcir-Six-funkyderek crowd to answer the question.

Not really sure what the question is. I already said I was against reparations for alleged descendants of alleged victims and that I'm against tax money being sent to Israel. I'm not sure what other question I was asked.

    Hello funkyD,

I guess the question I'm asking, for one with your particular perspective, is a bit more subtle.

You state that you are against both reparations AND aid to Israel. Fine. That doesn't end the payments taxpayers make to Israel every month, month after month, year after year. If you are a working American, money comes out of your pocket on the first of every month and heads straight to Israel whether you like it or not. So...

... how would you feel if, in addition to the $2 the U.S. government already takes from you monthly, it also takes an additional quarter for slave reparations and distributes it to your black American neighbors?

    Would you call your congressman?

    Would you protest?

Would you become envious of black people? Would your view of them (us) be affected at all, knowing about our windfall?

    peace,
    tj

Hey leave my name out of it. I posted a story I thought was interesting and that's where my "involvement" ends. I haven't even read any of these pages.

I like this point teejay. It does show the hypocrisy of a lot of ppl in this country regarding the whole issue of race. You can bet that a lot of ppl who share Derek's viewpoint would be totally outraged at the thought of even an extra nickel coming out of their pocket for payment of reparations to descendents of former slave. Yet, Israel's been on the dole for years and there is not even a whisper of protest.

there are whispers of protest; however, most media outlets are owned by jewish interests and this could never be given fair discussion on the tele or radio.

    Saw,

But what about here?!!! By those who have already shown their disapproval for reparations? Why the silence? Naeblis has shown that his intent was just to throw others a bone to chew on. Where's every one else?

i can't speak for anyone else but supporting foreign governments makes no sense to me. especially when the existance of israel pisses off the oil producing arabs upon whom all western nation still rely.let them stand on there own i say.but i suspect many who fund political campaigns insist on helping israel. also, ther has been sympathy because of the holocaust being 55 yrs ago. (personally i've had enough of this guilt trip, a relative of mine helped free europe including the jews and i think they should start showing some gratitude instead of constantly going around with their hand out)i think my opinion is becoming more widely held. so i say everone stand on their own two feet.
