Some news from Finland! Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman has decided, that all documents written during DFing procedure must be available for the DFed person. This includes document S79, handwritten letters and desicions both at the national branch of JW’s and at congregational elders’ homes! If asked, copies must be given. Giving rewritten documents is against the law. The DFed must have access to copies of all these documents, and they may not be destroyed immediately after DFing. Magistrate Office must be informed immediately after DFing. No sensual data is allowed to be documented. This includes information About sexual and health matters. Some restricted information regarding religious matters may be recorded. Ombudsman gave his decision after a DFed man had made an inquiry. Some more DFed persons have already asked for their data. The new Religious Freedom Law is a few years old, but this is the first time JW's were forced to follow it.

Just because YOU view yourself as merely inactive, it will mean nothing. By your not being a part of the cult, YOU have proven what your actions are.

I can only imagine the horrible pressure this will put on my 82 year old ill mother. These Pharisees are like AlQeda (sp) terrorists. They care nothing except furthering their agenda!

Sounds like there will be no more such a thing as fading or being inactive. You have to be irregular or you will be DA'd.

They seem to hold no value to those who no longer attend and want to kick them in the nuts to go to meetings, or they are out. I bet there will be many announcements coming soon, including myself.

    You say:

The excerpt below is from an outline in another language

What sort of outline? A CO's talk? A letter to the body of elders? A KM article?

Have you got a link to the source?

Announcing that people who have not attended for years have "disassociated"? I am highly sceptical about this I have to admit.

Memorial attendance could drop like a rock.

Okay in light of purps post...... this makes some sense.

But what about former DFd and does reinstatement work?

Would this apply retrospectively? I mean are they going to call on people who haven't been to the kingdom hall since the 1980s and tell then to come back or else get the boot?

This sounds far fetched to me. There are more inactive Witnesses in our territory than active ones. It would be a miserable task for the elders to rake up so much trouble.

If (big if) this story turns out to be true then I think there may at least be some room to interpret the 'reasonable excuse' clause for not attending the meetings very liberally. If someone claims they are not going to the meetings because they are too depressed are the elders going to make an announcement that that person is no longer a Witness? Surely not. And in that case any fader whose back is against the wall could simply claim they are depressed, end of story.

I think this is a bit much. We've seen a number of threads that have covered the thought of df'ing inactive ones. I just don't see this happening. The effort this would require on the part of an overworked elder is just too much. They can't even keep up with active JW's

    Hi Slims.

    There's some corroborating news at:

    http://www.extj.com/foro/view_topic.php?id=5822&forum_id=1

If you ask me, I felt like I was getting set up.

I wrote Mary Fuentes (at extj.com) and explained the situation and that I didn't know whether to sit on the info or what? I didn't give any details nor did I forward the info.

To have some the info appear at extj.com from another forum member "TEJOTA" was quite a shock.

I'm taking a chance. Maybe it's true, maybe it's just a means of smoking out some "filtradores" according to the Ajalvir crowd. I'll PM you with more details.

    With regards.
