    AwakenedAtGilead :

I was kicked out because I told 2 elders I no longer believed in all their teachings. I was not sharing this with anyone in the cong, so they could not accuse me of causing dissension. My mum just got DFd, not for dissension, but because she refused to put limits on our relationship. Are you talking about the JWs or some other religion. Have you TOLD the elders you don't believe in ALL the teachings?

I have to agree that action and attitudes are not always consistent from one congregation to another. When my sister got disfellowshipped (another story) I refused to put limits on our relationship and didn't hide that fact and no-one batted an eyelid. I have always...no, not always but for many years...treated DF'd people no differently to how I would treat my neighbour. I know some have been disfellowshipped for this but just say I don't see that prohibition of association in scripture and will not pretend I do.

Nowhere in the WT quote does it say the unique beliefs were unique in 1919!........if you make a logical question about a quote, then the question should apply DIRECTLY to the quote, not add in another factor that is outside the nature of the quoter. I think the question to this quote should just be.."so what beliefs do they have that are unique?"...........and there sure as hell are a lot that are now!!!.................................................i wish i posted this on page one...................................................oompa

Oompz - are you conceding that the WTS had no unique beliefs in 1919?

Yes or no will do to save time. If no, then elaborate on those unique beliefs please.

The point here is that the now departed Reniaa claimed holy spirit as gifting many bible truths to the WTS at this time.

I'm simply asking which unique beliefs the holy spirit gifted, thereby allowing Jesus to identify the WTS on ar about 1919.

If there are no unique beliefs (and none have appeared so far) then how did Jesus differentiate?

Please take my word that we have more in common (including the Beatles) than you might think.

    Sounds good.

Do we need religion to worship our creator, will God destory us if our knowledge of him is not in accord with the 12 men of Watchtower?

I don't think we need the Watchtower or religion Reniaa...We do need God as I believe the Universe is kept in order by him.

Besty,Ye of little faith! Didn't you see Thursdays day text comment? It stated there that EVIDENTLY Jesus chose them then,so there must be evidence, just don't hold your breath while it is forthcoming!

sure besty...i dont have to concede that...i know it and already said that....but they do now....and that is all your WT quote indicates well....so why the question and why the fuss over it?.....ya i know....renaai drives us nuts....but can you justify your question when the WT quote you cite makes no reference to a unique belief in 1919?......a yes or no will do.......lol......................oompa

The point is the WTS makes big claims about sole divine appointment early in the 20th Century (1919), and yet nothing has been presented (on this thread at least) as evidence for this appointment. I'm discounting woolly claims about God using foreknowledge about 'what they were going to do' as insufficent evidence given the claim.

Evidence being reasonably defined (IMHO for such a grandiose claim - if they were just claiming to be a Brooklyn-based publishing company looking for free labor we'd cut them a bit more slack) as uniqely identifying them at that time. Such beliefs having been granted to them by Holy Spirit you'd reasonably expect said beliefs to still be around today.

All I'm asking is what those beliefs are? Or other evidence excluding self-proclaimed circular reasoning based on the 7 trompettes of revelation?
