What hope is there then?

PSacramento I don't mean to sound coy. I'm just trying to see your point.

Do you see anything wrong with an organization, proclaiming to be God's sole voice on Earth, glorifiying the deaths of Children?

Here's another WT cover to ponder:

Is this the current "truth" being taught today or has it changed?

If "truth" changes, can it really be "truth"? And we're not talking "light getting brighter" bullshit. The above was taught as God's prophecy coming true for decades. I know...I lived it. But then that "truth" changed. What was taught as depicted above no longer was held out as "truth". Something else was now truth.

You can't claim to speak for God and have "truth" if that "truth" continues to be wrong.

For any logical, non-indoctrinated mind, this example is proof enough that the JW belief of "this generation not passing away" was in error.

If one examines the history of the "generation" teaching and it's subsequent falling apart and failing to come about as prophesied and can still claim JWs are the one true religion, then they are deluded and any further debate is useless as that person is not really open minded to the fact that the WTS is in fact false prophets as defined by the Bible...the book that the WTS claims to follow.

Mad Sweeney, I've thoroughly enjoyed your post #1765.

PSacramento: "I didn't believe it either, not until I had no choice but to believe it". I'd love to know the story behind those words...

Leavingwt: I think you are very right about the order of questions. I'd even ask another one in between: 1. Is the Watchtower God's organization or the only true religion? 2. Is the Bible really God's word (exactly the title of a little green book dating back... 30 years ago?)? 3. Does God exist? At least that ¡s the order in which, in my case, the answers followed one another in logical succession (well, I'm still stuck on the third).

    Sayitsnotso,

You have listed a laundry list of why you feel JWs are the only true religion. While I do disagree with just about each of those points, I will ask you a question- aside from you point of a loving brotherhood, where does the Bible indicate that such a laundry list of doctrines (assuming they were correct) is the basis to decide that an org is God's org? Further, what exactly makes you call it a loving brotherhood? In what ways are the JWs more loving than other relgious groups? I know you may say they do not go to war, which then makes me ask you what makes the JWs any more loving than Quakers, Christadelphians, House of Yahweh, etc? You may say they preach door to door, but most groups preach in their own way. The Bible does not define HOW preaching is to be done (and this assumes the WT is preaching a true Gospel).

Please also direct me to where the scriptures point to an organization that one needs to identify with to be acceptable to God. That should be our starting point here.

You know how we can asking God for proof and keep asking God "WHY?" and such?

Well, for whatever reason, one day, God decided to answer.

It is a very personal thing that I have only shared with one person fully, my wife.

One day I may be able to share it with strangers, one day I hope...

First how does one quote someone else in this forum (with the yellow box around the quote)?

Select and copy the text into the Post a reply window. Select the text and click on Styles - quote above in the tool menu.

I like to place a space and 'x' at the end of the text I'm quoting and then only select the text up to the 'x'. After using Styles - quotes, I delete the x (which should be outside of the box).

Give it a try and see how it goes.

I'll take one of your charges. The fact that the WTS could have had at one time, or even still has, investments that some percentage is with companies that manufacture weapons, what does this prove? I could invest in a mutal fund and some of that money could go to the same thing. A year from now that same money could be diverted in other funds and no longer in such a company. Its not like I hand picked the companies to invest in. Not to mention that many may give in trust these types of funds to the WTS at their death. So I don't see your point here.....sayitsnotso

You don`t see my point because, its not in your best interest to see my point..

The WBT$ owns 50% of Rand Cam..They Still do..

WBT$ could simply give back the shares to the person that gave it to them..

They won`t..Theres too much money involved..

The next smart bomb that is delivered to it`s target ,with a Rand Cam Engine..Will make the WBT$ money..

The WBTS can`t make money in Rand Cam without a War..

The WBT$ is invested in War..

    What does that prove?..

    The WBT$ are Heartless,Greedy Pricks..

    And..

There will always be Mindless Twit..

    To endlessly and unsuccessfully,defend them..

You select the text you want to put into a quotes box, then use the 'Styles' dropdown option to select 'quote'.
