Debator.... you are just spinning and spinning and spinning.... and you are beginning so sound really silly.

By what authority does the wt speak/publish billions of pages of literature and direct the lives of all of its followers over the course of its existence? Who appointed them to be the fds?

debator, could you tell me why the new world translation is the only bible that has john 1:1 as "the Word was a God"?

    Thanks,

    Hi coffee-black

Ehh Jesus did! in the first century when he set up the apostles as shepherds and they under inspiration set up the congregations and gave instructions on how the Christian congregation was to have shepherds and overseers as time goes on. Appointing men from among themselves. From that point we are meant to have shepherds/overseers from among ourselves as Christians.

    Alrighty then,

If Jesus appointed them,, you should be able to point to the organizations/groups that carried that torch through the centuries. Who were they? What was the name of their organization/s or groups. If Jesus did appoint them... what about the millions of people between the time of the apostles...and the time of Russell?

Edited to add: On what basis did Jesus appoint them? wt says it was on the basis of thier teachings... Do you believe that is true?

Dabator, I will no enter into further debate with you save this post. I "debated" long enough with you in your former persona.

Being born again is the essence of being a Christian.

    Colossians 2:13 (New International Version)

13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins

Either you are born again and and made alive with Christ or you are dead in your sins.

Do not ignore the simplicity of the gospel or listen to those with their false gospels and false hopes.

There is one hope, one Mediator, one way, one truth, one life, one Saviour, one Lord, one God, one King.

    Blessings,

    Stephen

My reply: Are they meant to have the same authority as the apostles? The JW leaders deny apostolic succession while claiming their authority.

Debator is using the usual dishonest technique of ignoring posts that refute Debs. argument.

My post at the bottom of page 4 quoted from the WT 1973 pg. 402 para 6 :

"Only God by his holy spirit (inspiration) could have revealed this to those early Bible students so far in advance (prophets) "

Words in parenthesis are mine to explain what this is claiming in one sentence, to prove that Debator is lying when he/she say the WT/GB/ JW's have never claimed to have spoken inspired utterances or prophecies.

I can give many more such quotes, but Debator knows they exist, he/she is from his/her father, the father of the lie.

Well, I have to run in a few minutes... so I'll ask the next question now...and see if debator can answer.

If the wt (then IBS) was chosen to represent God on earth (as they claim) on the basis of what they were teaching at that time, have you (debator) read what was taught at that time? Have you, for example, read the Finished Mystery? Why is it so different from what is taught today by the wt?...if in fact that was the basis on which they were chosen... Why did the wt have the symbol of the Egyptian god RA on the front cover of the most prominent publication of that time? 1918/1919 depending on which modern wt publication you use as reference.

Wobble, what do you expect? She did the same things in her Reniaa days. How do you defend the indefensible?
