LOL, Sam I don't work in a bookstore, and I am doing fine. Here's an odd thing, see if you can wrap your head around it. I actually care about how others are doing. About America as a whole. Gasp!!

It's true not eveyone can improve their skill set, but there are plenty of jobs for those will make the effort

What if everyone did improve their skill set? Still gonna be plenty of those jobs out there? Which frankly how you can say that in the first place when we are at the unemployment level we are................ ask JeffT if there are plenty of jobs out there. He has an excellent skill set and resume. And so if everyone becomes a manager, who is going to fill the potholes or wash the windows or scan your groceries? Why don't those workers deserve a living wage strictly for thier time and in some cases, back breaking labor?

Give the people jobs they can live on and money they can spend!
Right, why don't these people realize that the more money made by the lower 95% of the populace the more money flows in to the economy?? Which is 2/3 consumer spending!!!

Question is....will they make the effort. Or...is this turning out to be a Boo-Hoo poor me where's my OBama money, Pity Party?

Hmmmm just thought about this. How is wanting to be paid a living wage for a days work a pity party? And exactly what "Obama money" are you talking about?

"There are plenty of good jobs out there. If you're not educated enough to get them, then get the education that's needed. It's true not eveyone can improve their skill set, but there are plenty of jobs for those will make the effort."

Don't forget Beks, that he said workers are not entitled to anything.

I did not say workers "are not entitled to anything", you're taking what I said out of context. What I said was that if you're not the inventor, if you're not the business owner, if you didn't do anything but sign up for the job and the wage it pays, ..... then no, YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO ANYTHING EXCEPT YOUR WAGES.

If I may, I'd like to offer some thoughts for you to consider.

    What are your thoughts?

@Beks - You're wrong....again. Yes, everyone CAN improve their skillsets, 99% won't. The question is; Who WILL take the actions to improve their skillsets?

Beks - "There is no way that everyone can "improve thier skill set" to get a better job. It's impossible. There only exist so many of those jobs. Every worker should be able to make a living wage."

There is a huge chasm between "Can" and "Will"..... Frankly, those of us that figured out the "Can" and "Will" difference many years ago, are the ones that have been, and are, waaaaay ahead of the curve.
