Sab, are you now having to resort to changing my words to get anywhere with your agenda? Tsk tsk. Caught with your hand in the cookie jar, lad.

    Interchanging them, actually.

    Thinking:
The process of using one's mind to consider or reason about something.

    Believing:
Accept (something) as true; feel sure of the truth of.

^ This is why we can't see eye to eye almost ever. You are a thinker and I am a feeler, or believer. Not that all feelers believe, I just seem to be one that does. Thinking types are prone to atheism, I don't have numbers to support this so I guess for now it remains a sterotype.

The inherent problem lies in the means of communication: this forum. See, if you and I were in person I would watch what I said around you because of your thinking leanings. Feeling centered conversation seems to unnerve you. Maybe this is why you always demand facts from others here in such aggressive fashion. I'm like the polar opposite of you. Things I "feel" good about are "good enough" for me to type out in a public forum. However this doesn't cut it with you because of your thinking centered brain. It's no biggie, there's no way on God's green earth we are ever going to see eye to eye on the fundamental issues.

Well there is our problem. You were unhappy earlier when I told you how much you post unscientific stuff and try to give it a scientific gloss. Classic example by your own admission.

You enjoy an active fantasy life Sab and science is not important to you. That's ok just be honest about it.

I would like to get back to the topic, I think the question of what it means to be an atheist (not the semantic debate) is an interesting one.

It all balances out because I will feel myself through situations more than you and you will be able to reason your way through yours more than me. Both are models that have eons of evolution behind them. The question is will science forever remain the opposite of faith and spirituality?

I find a thinking brain to be a big asset.

Science is super important to me. I'm glad there are thinking types out there to solve the riddles of life that I find too menial and troublesome. However this world also has a lot of room for the feeling types which are easier to talk about God with.

    Yes always.

By definition faith is diametrically opposed to the scientific method.

What's with the binary thinking? Do you feel a need to put people in boxes? You think people who value reason over feelings are one dimensional?

No, using them incorrectly. If you THINK your test will prove your hypothesis you have reasoned on it. If you believe it, you already accept it as true. What would be the motivation to test?

But, enough. Whatever dude. You've been caught being dishonest, misrepresenting things, ducking questions, etc. Live in your fantasy world. One day you might look back and wonder how you could ever have acted like this.

    Let's hope.

Only if they replace feeling with thinking. I have seen many in my life time growing up in the hill billies.

You should avoid the illusion that you live in a small world in which you can decide there is no God without consequence.
