The important point is that no perspective should be ruled out.

Close, but even there, you're kinda off, since hypotheses (which stem from unique perspectives) which are disproven SHOULD be discarded after testing, so others don't have to waste time on evaluating them as potentially useful ideas. It really goes back to the old saying about how madness is repeatedly doing the same thing but expecting a different outcome.

However, it seems the God hypothesis (the great "contribution" from theology) is exempt from that scientific principle....

Look how Lamarckism was rejected, but in the past couple of years has made an unexpected comeback. Intellectual history is littered with such reversals. Even rejected ideas should not be ruled out. I was practically asleep when I made my last post so I don't know what that was all about. I am wide awake ready for a day's work now though.

'God' is conscience and the morality of your heart. Just follow those two things and you will be fine. No ancient scripture needed. Paul even admitted it:

Romans 2:14 - Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law.15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them. Romans 2:14 is an open door to paradise for me... why choosing a hard way of living if my conscience is bigger then that of a witness? I sometimes hear stories from my wife that makes my ears bleed and I am just laughing inside and think: how on earth could I ever believe JW's are living the good lives...

I have shown on this thread that Cofty supports of God's eye view of the earth as the one correct view of its essence. If he believes that the earth is round then he is not a true atheist, a rather interesting turn of events.

She alone knows the will of the Almighty.
We are simply deaf &/or blind or proud or frightened or whatever this week's accusation is.
Astounding hubris masquerading as humility; not madness.

Isn't the idea that we can work out the nature of reality for ourselves the greater hubris? Is man the measure of everything?

    70wksfyrs: to me,

WORKS of a Creator, are not miracles that violate the Laws of nature but validate them.

Even if we come to understand the WORKS, ( as in the whole thing ), it still would be Works.

The exiting thing about science as explained in NATURE, Scientific American, New scientist, astronomy, Icarus ---, is:

how ingenious the people are to come up with these insights, results about how the Work works.

On a simpler level, looking at a clever gadget, (like a wheel) the reaction is: why did I not think of this ? and filed papers in Alexandria VA to claim priority?

I have yet to read a convincing argument, and I have gone through most of the writings, that makes a good case as to why

our better research, our better understanding has changed the Cosmos from a creative masterpiece to a result of a self-occurring random event. A cosmos of wich we only can observe the PAST.

And even then, the vaccuum that this happening took place in, had to have time and energy potential. so

no matter how far or fast you kick the can down the road, or with escape velocity even, it is works.

I agree with cofty's repeated catch phrase: " The creator? all he does is exist" right:

    exist.

for me he/she ( I adore the female part) does exist, His works, and how she takes care of us, speaks volumes, I need no further communications, it tells me what to do.

I really appreciate the experience granted us.

SBF: What really matters is which perspective is useful in any given situation.

thats just so dumb. i gave the following example in another thread where you peddled the same bullshit:

hitler thought jews caused WW1 and that was useful to him. is that what really matter?

Hitler was an evil bastard. That is my perspective. I am not sure what your point is.
