Here are some thoughts and ideas ...

The UK government should make those who 1. vocally support and encourage terrorism and 2. say that Sharia should supplant UK law guilty of treason.

Treason should very treated as a very serious crime.

Is there any way this can work (e.g. dealing with radicalisation in prisons by either a) sentencing these criminals and traitors to life without parole or b) monitoring and recording religious lectures and sermons in prisons, appointing government-appointed prison imams that teach respect for UK law, etc.)

(Obviously foreign-born people convicted of treason should be thrown out, like the rubbish they are, never to return.)

    Thoughts?

I've just read something Col Richard Kemp serving in Afghanistan and former member of the Cobra Committee has said the 3000 jihadists on the streets of England should be interned or kicked out of the country if they aren't citizens. To add to that I would punish the relatives just as the Israelis do. Col Kemp also said not all jihadists are continually monitored because of the number so they prioritise some but they don't always get it right.

Be safe everyone the unholy month of Ramadan is upon us and there will be more attacks as muslims endeavour to get closer to their evil god. Ramadan last year has shown a record number of attacks worldwide .

Hothead - you haven't been paying attention. Nobody has greater contempt for Islam than me.

It's pathetic that so many people can't cope with any disagreement at all. I disagree with you that wives and children of men found guilty of thought crimes should be murdered by the state and so you put me in the box labelled "regressive".

You are not just wrong and stupid you are dangerously so.

Any solution to this problem will take political courage and intelligent decisions. I believe we will need to do things that don't come naturally in a free liberal democracy. The danger is that shrill voices calling for indiscriminate vengeance will prevail.

Yet you believe in the magic liberal unicorn of a peaceful and the non-peaceful form of Islam?

It's pathetic that so many people can't cope with any disagreement at all.

I am coping just fine. I am not the one who call another poster "insane" and childishly spell your name wrongly to annoy you. #triggered.

Which is something I didn't write. Why are you lying to win an argument?

I do think the families should be looked into to determine if they are extremists. The Israelis got this one right. I also think extremists and radicals should face extreme punishment.

You are not just wrong and stupid you are dangerously so.

I believe we will need to do things that don't come naturally in a free liberal democracy.

...and then I say how about shoting/imprisoning some of the known wannabe terrorists and you say: Oh no! I can't have that! I must call you names and run around in circles while virtue signal how great my righteous though are on Islam and how well my wordy words imitate Sam Harris!

We can agree to disagree or you can continue calling me names and act silly. I for one don't want to derail the conversation.

Damn right. The family seemed to be in on it in Manchester and that should have consequences.

It takes a team of 10-12 men to have surveillance on a single target. Add administration/overhead and there is no way to have surveillance on all 3000. The choice is either to accept thousands of extremists roaming freely or do something.

A war has been declared and continental Europe may be lost. People need to wake up to that reality and accept that in times like that working with the enemy has consequences.

I think we need to be careful that we don't overstep because errors or misstatements are a gift to those who would excuse and deny why Islam does and just gives them a way to label and dismiss things (for whatever reason - white patriarchy, alt-right, who cares).

I am all for harsh treatment of terrorists and anyone involved with it and that might involve family as long as they truly are involved with it too, not just by virtue of being a blood relation.

But it has to go hand-in-hand with good foreign policy and extremely high standards of justice if people are to be executed (which I think they need to be).

What many fail to realize is that whether you don't like the idea of killing people, people are going to die. Whatever your view, you are making a choice whether that should be people who chose to get involved with dangerous ideologies and murdering other people or the innocent people who they kill.

Personally, I have no problem making that choice. Kill the monsters. protect the weak and the innocent. Don't be sorry for it.

@Simon: I completely agree. I don't think someone should be executed because their kid/spouse was radicalized at the local mosque... Also I don't care much for the method of punishment either as long as it takes out the terrorists/dangerous radicals for good.

I am simply observing this is a contagious phenomena and it is best to treat those close to a person who caught it (whether they attend the same place of worship or is in his family) as being potentially infected and look into them very, very closely and dealt with harshly.

It is well-known some mosques produce terrorists and nothing is done. I get angry thinking about how stupid that is. Imagine how quickly a publicly known bomb-making factory would be shut down.

Kill the monsters. protect the weak and the innocent. Don't be sorry for it.

A state which does not accomplish this is not worthy of the name.

Stop lying and have the balls to stand by your hateful ravings.

Radicals should be given the chance of deportation or prison and the most radical should be shot. This should also apply to their family. - Hothead

    You are a dangerous idiot.

@Cofty: "hateful", "insane", "stupid". I am pretty sure I am a lot younger than you but you are the one who acts like a child lol.

Radicals who are terrorists should be shot or deported. This (referring to radicals & their punishment) should also apply to family members.

I am proposing deportation of radicals who pose a danger to society and you call me insane. This has been proposed by numerous people on this thread and yet you single me out to call me insane and stupid, then virtue signal about how great your own thoughts are on this subject.

Can I assume this is happening because I am a newbie?
