  after several attempts to log on, im finally in!

  woohoo!.

  well my story goes as follows, grew up a dub, in northern england, mum, dad, and the rest of us brood, dad becomes an elder sisters pioneers, and me and me brother were regular "publishers".

  Howdy - Help needed

  it's great to finally be able to post here (there's been a problem over the last month with new registration).

  i've been lurking for about two months because i have a friend who's a jw and i was interested in finding more out about his religion.

  i started asking him things about it and he would get a bit cagy and wondered why i was asking.

  Welcome Jst.......I liked your review of the Daniel Book, you are right on when you say 5th grd. level, now try studing that same book once, twice and sometimes even three times, no wonder one might be brainwashed.

  I would recommend him reading George Orwell's book 1984, it perfectly describes what the new world that JW are hoping for, one no human with a thinking mind would ever want to live in. Maybe you can read it first to get some insight on the matierial, you will see many similarities to Wachtower World.

  nightmares

  i almost never used to have nightmares, but recently, i've been having plenty.

  i usually wake up during or after a nightmare with an extremely dry mouth and a pounding headache.

  the nightmares occur about 4 or 5 times a week.

  Sometimes certain meds you might be on can cause your brain to work overtime while your trying to sleep and can cause nightmares.

  So many buzz words pop out at me now, even before I read your thoughts, I can't believe how things like that would slip right by my brain.

  Blondie, I loved your thoughts on parg.9 about what love was like in the congregation............so true, no love in the hall, car groups, everyone is just so critical and gossip all over the place.............it gives me chills thinking about how I had to go and "endure" (word fits) going, I actually started getting that sick feeling walking in the hall, and out in service.(I'm a happy person, not negative, always wants to have fun) so it was hard being with all those old craps...........one friend of mine came home from service all day and said" I felt like I was in a car full of hate, those people are miserable". That is the real truth my friends.............

  what would you do in this situation?.

  the wife and i are heading to cancun next wednesday for a week.

  a younger sister from the hall will be house sitting for us during our trip.

  We know a friend who had a pioneer witness house sit and take care of the family pet................the single pioneer used the house as a party house, oh and the pet she forgot to feed and give water, so the homecoming was a sad one: the house trashed, the pet dead, and they had to go to the hall and be loving and forgiving of the pioneer sister..................the pet was an exotic bird that talked and sang Kingdom melodies...........maybe it will be ressurected......................

  I received an E-mail from an old friend....how do I respond?

  i've been thinking of you a lot, i've wanted to write you this for quite some time.

  i guess we both know that things aren't the way they used to be-between you and i; between you and jehovah's organization-and i just want you to know how much i miss you.

  Hi Schne, just want to add my 2 cents worth here since I've had it happen: The witness is scared, so you have to calm their fears by saying, your okay, you love Jah, your doing you personel studing, if you don't they imagine you are the devils children: once you have calmed her fears then keep it short and sweet, just fluff stuff nothing religious.....................you must remember just as you are sharing her e-mail here, she also could share yours with others "who are concerned" then a knock at the door will follow.............Brother elder.

  My experience was at funeral, my close friend (yeah right)...........came over put her arm around me and said" we are so worried about you" my reply with a big smile "No need to worry about me I'm doing great"........with that she said "I heard you are not going to meetings" my reply "oh theres that JW gossip again, you can't believe everything you hear" she said "I PRAY FOR YOU" my reply with a big smile 'I PRAY FOR YOU.................. we left, and that so called good friend who loved me so much has never called in over 4 years...................her prayers worked......... so I say again keep it short and sweet and calm her fears and say talk later.......see how long before she e-mails you again.........I'm still waiting on my "good" friend 4 years later,,,,,,,,,,,,don't need friends like that in your life...........

  at the last dfing announcement the brother got up there and yelled into the mic .

  Kwin we were so proud of you for fighting for your reputation, the funny thing is it worked, you are the first my friend that I have ever known of to get undisfellowshipped, your amazing. Good for you!!!!!!!!

  We have a dear friend that is DFED right now for adultery, and the sister he was with got DFED too.........they are waiting for his divorce to be final from his wife (who is a witness with children) so he can marry the one he committed adultery with, that way they can get reinstated together, isn't that nice..................this is the most loving organization on earth, just think within a year they can come back as the happily married couple and everyone will welcome them back...........to bad for the ex-wife and the family he left behind .

  Let's be real, we all knew what everyone thought of the sickys We pretended to be concerned, then out in the care group they would be ragged on............saying sure she sick, well how come she can go out and do everything under the sun except when it comes to theocratic things..............people in the hall treated people with these real or imagined illness as lepers very little sympathy went their way........................usually it was the witness who loved attention, if she didn't get it with one illness, well low and behold she has another..........................please some are just big fakes and you all know it................I knew some one like the one interviewed, no one wanted to be her friend all she talked about was her illness. I say walk through a childrens ward at the childrens hospital, and you'll see what real illness is..............

  You Can't Get It Back

  the higher education thread got me thinking about the thing i loathe, despise, hate with the intensity of a thousand suns about the wbts, namely, the loss of my childhood.

  i remember when engaging in blistering arguements with my parents about being able to play sports or take up an instrument or dream of being an astronaut, or whatever thing the society frowned on that i wasn't allowed to do at the end i would always get the same final reply, "when you are 18 and out of the house you can do whatever you want.

  i can go back and play pop warner football, or little league baseball, or play in the school band, etc?

  This certainly hits home, the thing that bothers me, when I talk about my past hopes and dreams with my die hard witness mom she says " well, why don't you pursue that dream now".................................................I WANT TO SCREAM She just don't get it, my dream was squashed like a bug, we don't need schooling we have the truth, the new system is going to be here,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,help. You can't back peddle..............I have pursued a few things, taken some course but it is to late to go for my real heart desire. I blame the cult and my crazy mothers die hard way..........................ps...I did better with my own kids..............
