A Fundamentalist critiquing a Witness on theology and beliefs makes about as much sense as Hilter lecturing Mussolini on ethics and morals.

by restrangled inthe best thing for me..... my son stopped over and he realized he needs to buy a home....so we quickly did a run on the internet in our neighborhood and he found a jewel.. whether he gets it or not....it was fun for both my husband and myself to go see, help him ask questions and give him the ok.. it's probably just a dream, but reminded us of our younger days.. how was your day?
something happy please!!!!

The Michael as Jesus issues go back to the Reformation at least. John Calvin, Martin Luther, Matthew Henry, August Strong all believed that Michael was a designation for one of Jesus prehuman roles. The captions of 'The Angel of the Lord' and "Michael' in the OT were considered to have been refering to the same person by these Reformers.
As with most technical issues of the Bible people will spend hours debating and researching such things and neglect doing the things that help people in their communities such as volunteering at the local Food Bank or Community Centers and volunteering for environmental cleaning and restoration programs.

Another Question for JW Apologists...
by Jack Burton ini've been following the thread on staying off of apostate sites, and somehow the subject of reinstatement came up.. i started thinking about this, and i thought about how "easy" it would be for someone like me to get reinstated.
just for the record, i have no desire to ever go back to "the truth".
but, after being raised as a witness, serving in various different positions, i understand how to play the game.

Did 'He' leave Christendom 1900 years ago, was 'He' ever along for the bloody ride, history answers.
The Witnesses have their problems but its nothing in comparison to Christendom and the blood trail they leave on the earth.

One of the great trajedies is that when a person needs their Church and friendships the most to get through a difficult period in life they get thrown under the bus in this religion.
When will they ever learn.

How many here actually still believe that there is a God??
by annalice inafter being gone from the jw's for many years now , and having done extensive research on the history of god and the belief in him , i can't seem to find any logical way to have a belief in an invisble being up there ruling over us.
how many here still believe?
how many don't?.

Supreme Being yes. Natural cycles are well the nature of things, we're all just compost waiting to happen so be a good steward of this earth.
If you wake up in Paradise you'll know there is another scene to be played. Stop worrying and enjoy the ride.

Leolaia, slimboyfat et al. - how difficult?
by TheOldHippie ini read your posts, and the posts of others, and posts at other sites - posts that are full of research material of the sort you will have to spend the whole night going thru and trying to remotely get a grip of.. so i wonder - just how difficult do you - or others - feel that christianity, christian faith, "salvation" is meant to be?
if you consider a namib desert pygme, a bhutan sherpa, a yunnan farmer, an andes mine worker, an amazonian jungle dweller, an indian without caste, a big city sidewalk dweller - just how hard can it be meant for him / her to grasp the gospel and gain hope of salvation?
what is demanded by the salt of the earth people?

Major anti-cult campaign in autumn? Post here if interested
by rebel8 inso we already have this thread which has separate actions for next month: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/179142/2/make-august-2009-the-dawn-of-the-mass-exodus-the-beginning-of-the-end-of-the-watchtower-org.
i don't intend to discourage anyone from participating in that.
those actions are meant to educate current jws (help people leave).

Freedom yes, but to end up in some Fundamentalist Church is hardly progress. The Trinity and Hell, come on, replacing one set of superstitions for worse ones is going backwards.

Something Big Is Happening To the WT Mag.
by metatron ini looked over the aug. 1 public watchtower and noticed the same changes i observed previously.. plainly put, it appears that they have simply run out of things to say and so are just filling up printing space!.
they devote 4 full pages to a bible reading schedule that could have been easily condensed into a couple sentences.
they have the same large graphics and typeset that eats up printing area.

The problem is the lack of an activists's role in the world around us. Problems are identified but the solution is far off in some future kingdom.
Compare it to a journal like The Sojourner where 'grass roots activism and roll up your sleeves and do something positive now' is the message.
