  i cannot forget this little girl.. ezekiel 34:12 this is what the sovereign lord says: i am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock.

  i will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves.

  i will rescue my flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them".

  First, I fight abuse wherever I see it. No I don't think dubs are the only ones that do this, but we've got a chance here to expose a problem so I'm going for it.

  I just sent one of the Seattle papers links to the story, silentlambs, and this board if they want to talk to witnesses about it.

  As I mentioned above this story has now appeared on a totally unrelated board (politics and military history). I've got people asking me why I think the WTBS is a cult.

  This is an opportunity to expose the borg for what it is.

  A few minutes ago a link to this story popped up on a totally unrelated board that I visit. The outside world is starting to hear about this. I'm sending the story to my local paper. This is one that needs to stay in front of people.

  Past my prime and now I'm tired

  ok, so i became a jw when i was in my mid 20's.

  i was in my prime.. i was so busy being a witness, taking in the truth, pioneering bla bla bla that i feel like i've missed out on life totally.

  now i'm pushing 40 and i'm tired.

  I was aborbed when I was 22. I escaped when I was 38. For a time I greived over what I saw as lost years. I've gotten past that. I use my experience as a springboard to help others in similar situations.

  I'm writing a book.

  You still have a lot a head of you. Live it to the fullest.

  Meet Me in WA This Week?

  i'm flying into seattle for a week-long visit with my son in bellingham.

  my older son, a staunchly loyal jw, is coming with me for our semi-annual father-and-sons reunion.. i'd love to be able to meet any of you who live in the general area, although i don't know for certain that it could be arranged.

  my jw son does not shun me or his brother, even though i'm disassociated and the brother disfellowshipped.

  DA'd myself today

  well, i did it.. it's official and i'm relieved.. the elders wanted to try talking to me once again, but after awhile it was obvious that they were only interested in changing my thoughts not answering any questions.

  so, i just calmly asked if i could disassociate myself.

  they acted stunned and they got tears in their eyes, but i told them that i had already grieved and was ready to move on with life.

  Congratulations. My wife and I went through a very long struggle before we DA'd ourselves (now almost 13 years ago). You are on the road to a free and wonderful life, and you have a great support system in places like this board.

  I agree with Unc. don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. The Watchtower grossly misrepresents who God is, and how he acts towards us.

  I wasn't going to comment on this one, but what the heck.

  Mrs. T once told me that she loved sex during pregnancy. Our first son was born Dec. 26, our daughter the following Oct. 8th.

  Funny story: a few years later I'm reading at bookstudy, I think the book was "Having a Happy Family life" or some such drivel. So there's this paragraph all about how Jehovah made women so that they produced a natural contraceptive when they were nursing. By the time I was done reading and trying hard not to laugh outloud the whole room was giggling.

  Mispronunciations at the meetings

  moxy raised a point in the "exaggeration" thread that aggravated me at the meetings.

  mispronunciations.

  moxy mentioned the word 'hyperbole' as frequently being mispronounced.. another one that bugged me was 'epitome'.

  Two sex questions

  ok, have had enough to drink tonight so i will toss these two questions out.

  will discuss this a bit more tomorrow.. 1. how many of you had sex outside of your marriage after leaving the witnesses?

  provide whatever details about how and why that you're comfortable with.. 2. funny question: had a friend write me today that probably more jws per capita enjoyed oral sex the night they read it was a "conscience matter" than any other group in the us.

  1. I would never have sex outside my marriage. My commitment to my wife is absolute.

  2. Mostly ignored the WT on this subject as I didn't think it was anybody else's business.

  As a sidebar I would like to say that even after 27 years of marriage Mrs. T and I are still on a voyage of discovery in this, and many other areas.

  Who should and who shouldn't?

  i should get alot of different oppinions here but that is what i want.

  i was looking up who should partake of the bread and wine, and who should conduct bible studies.. in the bible, jesus does the last supper with his apostles.

  some people call them saints now or annointed ones.

  My experience is just like yours Andi. At our church there are bible studies (and even retreats) that are conducted by and for women. There are women in all sorts of positions of responsibility (it is a large church).

  As to counting time no one keeps track of such things. I think the idea that people would turn in reports showing how much time they put in at evangelism would be laughed at.

  Oh, and you don't even have to be a member to take communion. Any believer is free to partake with us.
