I'm angry and sad together. help me out here.
by avengers inrecently we had a death in the family.
my little baby, my granddaughter died before she reached the age of 2.. i really loved that little girl.
this saddens me to no end.

Ray Franz df'd , what did the society say ??????
by run dont walk ini remember vaguely, well all hell broke loose in the late 70's regarding, ray franz being df'd, and the witch hunt at bethel.
i was just a little kid at the time, and didn't pay much attention.. i know ray's point of view, from what i've read on this board, and also ordered myself his book "crisis of conscience"(should be a good read).
i think back now, i remember the event happening, and the speaker talking about it at our circuit assembly, but i don't recall the reasons (bs) he gave.

Theocratic School Talks, they were the worst ! hated doing them, did you ?
by run dont walk inremember back to the days you were in the theocratic school and had to give talks, were they the worst or what, i remember they were suppose to run about 6-8 minutes, i had some short as 3. the talks were pointless, you would just throw some mumble jumble together and go up and talk, first the introduction (and don't forget your gestures), then read the weekly scripture and then the conclusion, all your words of wisdom.
i would rank this second on the worst list next to field service (still # 1).. how about you, did you enjoy doing them ?
did you even prepare for them ?

So how does this work? Does WTS provide outlines that the speaker is to fill out and deliver? Does anyone ever speak on their own or is there always "direction" from the organization?

Is this strange or not?
by outoftheorg injust for the fun of it, i typed my aka (outoftheorg) into the msn search engine.
it brought up one of the lasts posts i put on this forum.
i tried it on google and got nothing.. then i put in outnfree on msn and 3 of his posts on this forum were displayed.. it only displays the title of the thread/post and the url.. what do you think?

Do you get yearly visits from the elders?

an inactive friend told me they are supposed to visit every year.

and why not thats what she has been taught since childhood.. is ther anything that seems to work better in reasoning with women inparticular.

Is it me or are the Watchtower Publications disappearing ??????
by run dont walk ini was at the hospital the other day in the waiting room for about 2 hours with a friend, and i noticed only one awake magazine from 2000 in the pile of reading material.. i always thought that the watchtower was trying to "preach the good news to all the inhabited earth before the end comes".
well , they don't like the internet, which is the # 1 way to inform people, you cannot get a subscription anymore unless someone at the hall does it for you or you are still attending, probaly why i didn't see any at the hospital, or lawyers office, or doctor's office etc etc etc.. it seems to me that they are trying to limit what info gets out to the outside world, is this not contradicting all they have preached the last 50 years.. no subscriptions for anyone who might want one ?????????.
no new books, for anyone who is not a jw.. what do you think ????????.

It is very strange, isn't it? It is beginning to look as if all the focus is on keeping current JWs loyal and the heck with everybody else. If that is true, we can predict that field service requirements will shift to an emphasis on shepherding calls, right? Is there any evidence that that is happening anywhere?
