despite there being so many alternatives to consider

    So many alternatives to consider?

As far as I know, there are only about 2 alternatives to abortion:

    1. have it and keep it OR
    2. have it and give it away

AND if you choose # 2 in the U.S., you may spend the rest of your life wondering whether or not the precious being you brought into the world is rotting away in a lousy foster care system that generally won't let you know the child's fate, ever.

    Some choices.

I have always been in the middle.

The thought of using abortion as a form of birth control is horrible to me, though I can see circumstances as to why one would be desirable. If they made abortions only legal under the condition of rape or abuse, then I fear that many men would be put up on unwarranted charges.

I wish pro-choice actually reflected that there were two people involved in the conception. Men get painted as villains and are not considered at all. Yes it is the woman's body, but it was two people that were irresponsible. I find it sad that people are pro choice for women while men that would love to raise the child is dismissed as fictional or not of consequence.

What Illegal sexual activity are you refering too? I didn't know of any form of sexual activty short of rape that is illegal.

Human sex trafficking. Women and children smuggled into this and other countries for the purpose of making them human sex slaves. All for the glory of of us with baser natures and purveyors of pornography.

I think that the problem here is that there are several questions nested inside the abortion debate. What your personal morals on the matter? What should be the legal status? Who decides what?

I think a lot of people find themselves somewhere in the grey area between the answers to those questions.

For myself I was pro-choice until about my senior year in college. Then a friend had an abortion and I realized it was a decision I didn't agree with. However I kept my thoughts to myself as I didn't think I had a right to vocalize my thoughts on a matter that truely was non of my business. I still feel that way: I am generally opposed to abortion, but I don't think it is appropriate for me to impose my beliefs on others. I would prefer to see fewer abortions in this country.

Mother #1: This is my body I have to consider the future. No one should tell me what to do. (The father can't or won't help)

Mother #2: This baby is totally dependant on me but I have no way to support it. (The father can't or won't help)

Mother # 3: This baby will have feelings and will feel pain, do I want to expose them to a miserable existance? (The Father jumped ship)

Mother #4: The father of this child considers them non existant and does not consider himself legally responsible

Mother #5: The father has disappeared because he can't afford to support this child and keep his current lifestyle.

Mother #6: I have no way to support this child, the father has several other children born and is paying for their well-being. (He refuses to admit he is the father)

Father: I'm not really pro abortion, but it's ok cause I have too many kids I'm taking care of now....Get it taken care of.

I have always, in my heart, even as a witness, been pro-choice.

I personally would not have an abortion. I personally would not encourage anyone to have one.

I am against late term abortion.

However, I do not feel it's right to tell another woman what to do. There are many reasons that bring a woman to have an abortion. Some are selfish, like using abortion as a form of birth control. Others are going through a hard time, physically, emotionally or financially. They simply feel they cannot handle this pregnancy. I do not want to judge who's reason has merit and whose does not.

Why is it so difficult for people to understand that all forms of abortion, regardless of the reasons for them, are birth control?

The Topic: Government's Justification for genocide as an answer to over population

    ______________

This is our third world country

These people depend on us to supply their necessities of life

These people will live a life of abject poverty with sickness and disease due to over population. Shouldn't we put them out of their misery?

The rest of the world basically turns a blind eye to this horror

No one really cares about these people anyway. They're uneducated and poverty-stricken, and dependent on the government for support

If we let them live, their life won't be worth much anyway. They will just be a drain on society.
