Reniaa..Once again you ignore the Bible!..Isn`t that what this thread is about!..You started it and you have repeatedly ignored or dismissed what the Bible teach`s.."So the Angels Celebrated The Birth of Jesus,so what?" That is your attitude!..You don`t give a Rats Ass what the Bible says!!..You are happy to ignore or dismiss the words of the Bible..Did you know that many people in ancient times did not know the date of their birth?..My GrandMother did not know the date of her birth!.....The Bible Say`s the Birth of Jesus was Celebrated!..Both you and the WBT$ will do everything in your power to dismiss that!..You do like to misdirect and mislead..Guess what I`m used to that!.....Please answer the questions from my first post to you!..How many more times will I have to repeat my request??!!..............................OUTLAW

I'm an atheist. I celebrate Christmas. Jesus is the furthest thing from my mind on Christmas Morning. Christmas, for me, is a day to get together with family & friends, enjoy a nice meal together, exchange some gifts, have a few laughs, and enjoy a nice nap on the couch later. The love & good cheer that is in the air is intoxicating. The smells, the lights, everything about it soothing & comforting.
I've heard JWs use the copout that they "are so glad that they don't have to participate in the whole gift shoping rat race". I'm sure I speak for most when I say that going out and getting/making something nice for someone you care about is a GREAT feeling.
I ask you this: If someone observes a holiday with absolutely no religious prerequisites, thoughts, or ideals, how could that possibly be construed as "unbiblical" If someone enjoys all the cool things that Christmas has to offer with any thoughts of it's origins or any salute to anything whatsoever pagan, how is it that they are saluting pagan tradtions & ideas?
The whole JW idea of obstaining from holidays is another brainwashing tactic designed to make the followers believe that they are somehow elevated from the rest of society, that they are better christians because they make the sacrifice to obstain from observing these "evil pagan days". It also makes them feel like martyrs because they don't get to have all the fun that everyone else is having because they love God so much more than everybody else. It's a load of bull.

Rennia:
If you truly believe in the Bible, then this should forever put your mind at ease. However, if you are looking to go about solving things in a way that ignores the Bible, then you will forever be turning in circles and naught will be accomplished. So, throw out all your reasonings and stop trying to convince others of something so incredibly unimportant, and as Solomon would say, "vanity", and focus on what really matters.
"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter..." Ecclesiastes 12:13
"Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, [but] not to doubtful disputations. For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day [alike]. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth [it] unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard [it]. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, [As] I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in [his] brother's way. I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that [there is] nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him [it is] unclean. But if thy brother be grieved with [thy] meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. Let not then your good be evil spoken of: For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ [is] acceptable to God, and approved of men. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed [are] pure; but [it is] evil for that man who eateth with offence. [It is] good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor [any thing] whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. Hast thou faith? have [it] to thyself before God. Happy [is] he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because [he eateth] not of faith: for whatsoever [is] not of faith is sin. We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please [his] neighbour for [his] good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me." Romans 14-15:3
Sorry (to everybody else) for posting the entire portion, but it's obvious that she has either not comprehended this portion, or is conveniently ignoring it so as to support an ulterior motive.
"For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks? Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: Even as I please all [men] in all [things], not seeking mine own profit, but the [profit] of many, that they may be saved."1 Corinthians 10:30-33

I never quite understood why someone who was baptised in another religion has to get re-baptised as a Jehovah's Witness? This somehow doesn't seem to apply to couples who were married in a different denomination. So, why is it that JWs feel they need to re-baptised and not re-marry? How can the Watchtower acknowledge a marriage that was made in a "false religion"?

Reniaa....As I said to you in my PM, when are you going to answer Mary and Outlaw's very poignant comments to you??? Always the jw apologist as usual. Come to snipe and raise issues that have long been debunked by some very astute individuals here. Once again you are "dueling at windmills". Thank you Cervantes. " Don Quixote"

hope you don't think I ment people leaving leaving the JW's will go out and automatically commit sin, I was just questioning why they left, if it was purely the JW's or that they had also lost faith in the bible too, and that if the only thing that classes something as a sin, is a document you no longer consider inspired there is certainly no reason to feel the need to abide by it anymore, but you Anti-Christ that a person can still not commit sin simply because it's wrong without god having to tell us so :)
there's plenty of JW's and elders and CO's and such committing sin.

Mary and Outlaw,
As you can see from my posts, I am awaiting the same answers from Reniaa as you guys. She simply does not get it. She makes blanket statements not supported by fact and then rambles on incoherently without giving an answer to our Q's. Also I believe she is a tad bit dramatic as she claims she was "condemed" because of not observing Holidays. Condemed to what; death? Obviously not!
I am beginning to really think that while the lights are on.............nobody is home. Get my drift?
I'm done waisting my time with this. Peace, Lilly
