Oompa,
They can twist Scripture to support anything. They already do so to justify killing babies, by encouraging parents to withold life-saving medical care involving blood fractions, when such fractions are not on their arbitrary list of what is "acceptable".

Leaving WT...that is true...but that issue is vague...and can change with time due to medical progress...but that does not compare with JESUS saying things!...or his PRINCIPLES!......but that is just my opinion.........i just dont think they could change their stance on something so biblically clear...when NOTHING on earth...like science or medicine could assist them on these points......

This cult has broken your heart and they continue to break my heart, as I have dear family members heavily involved.
As far as Jesus' words are concerned, I don't think they care one bit what he had to say.
(Matthew
12:9-12)9 After departing from that place he went into their synagogue; 10 and, look! a man with a withered hand! So they asked him, "Is it lawful to cure on the sabbath?" that they might get an accusation against him. 11 He said to them: "Who will be the man among YOU that has one sheep and, if this falls into a pit on the sabbath, will not get hold of it and lift it out? 12 All considered, of how much more worth is a man than a sheep! So it is lawful to do a fine thing on the sabbath."How any self-described Christian could read that passage, but allow someone to die by refusing them a blood transfusion, is beyond me.
As far as this "procedural adjustment" is concerned, I'll believe it when I see it.

horrible life
Just popped in. Read about 3 pages. I would love to hear my name being read from the platform once again! With my big mouth, I would have the last word. Such as "Thank Goodness!" and walk out the door.
Snakes post struck me as very funny.
hmmm....
Memorial attendance could drop like a rock.

I can picture an aisle horizonally at the KH. Front half for the good JW's and Back half for the Bad JW's. LOL
It would be funnier if it was Right and Left sides. That way the Good (on the right of course) could look at the Bad ones across the aisle, (on the left). They could all wonder what they have been up to. Hope they peg me for a slut. LOL

cyberguy said: "Iloowy, This "new change" seems a little odd in view of a recent WT article that is trying to get inactive JWs back into the org. However, it may be related to something that was said in elder’s school about 10+ years ago. They instructed elders to ask one of three questions (I can’t remember all three now). One question was, “do you consider yourself to be one of Jehovah’s Witnesses?” If the person said “no,” then the elders were instructed to make an announcement that so-and-so “is no longer one of JWs.” If they said “yes,” then they were to be asked if they would like a Bible study. " cyberguy, that quetion thing won't work. the hounders asked me that at my star chamber court thing and i said yes and they STILL DFed me. btw, how do i add emoticons here and get the paragraphs n stuff formatted right? please PM me with an answer.

This feels right to me - a simple extension of the DA by your own actions for blood fraction, church attendance, joining the military etc combined with the identical announcement for DA + DF. Join all that up with potential human rights abuses arising from DF congregational action and you have a neat solution to mitigate against the numero uno raison d'etre of faders - to stay in touch with JW family/friends.
As has been pointed out faders are by definition a long term thorn in the side for the WTS. DF/DA is a clean break despite the heartache for the immediate parties AND the unconnected R&F are kept 'protected'.
For those that seek 'scriptural justification' I recommend downloading Pay Attention To Yourselves And All The Flock and the collection of BOE Letters. Wonder what to do if there is a KH wedding with a 'worldy' photographer? Wonder no more - the WTS have laid out the answer for you. Pah. They don't need 'scriptural justification' for this sort of 'procedural adjustment'.
I think the R&F depend on a name being read out at the KH for knowing what to do - Pavlovian dogs in the majority. On being asked whether she was intending to keep in touch with me my mother replied - "I will know what to do when your congregation make an announcement." My own mother FFS - before I was even aware judicial action was underway!
Next thing will be a loaded language extravangaza explaining to the R&F why it is their decision to shun or not - voila - the person has DA'd themselves and the faithful 'decide for themselves' who they will associate with.
Loyalty goes upwards and liability goes downwards. Perfect.
Bravo WTS. Cults adapt to survive and we salute your efforts. You are a pointless anachronism and ultimately futile, but its fun for us watching your death spiral.

I do not believe it. "Inactivity" will never be judged as "disassociation" by the wts. While persons that da are viewed and treated as df by the wts, there is no scriptural grounds to "view" and treat someone that does not attend meetings or report fs as da. Da is a device to expel someone that cannot be expelled otherwise because of legal consequences to the wts. Such person is found guilty of sin nevertheless. Not going to meetings is not a sin and not reporting fs is not a sin according to the wts. Many people including meeting goers and fs reporting jws fail to show love to others in practice even though they know that it is required by God, with no wts judicial action taken against them by the wts. Showing love is compulsory, meetings and fs are not; they are voluntary offerings. According to the wts a person is no longer a jw when he is judged as an unrepentant sinner not when he or she rejects counsel from the Bible or the fds. Meetings and reporting fs is counsel from the wts.
