Like Besty, I was hoping she would address my 1919 question...I would hate to think she would rather cut bait and not answer then have to give a direct answer to a very simple yes or no question. it will be interesting to see if she answers, but it has been a full day since she last posted so we may not see her return for a while...too bad.

What I Have Learned About JWs:
People who have made a decision (or commitment) to a belief system based on emotional criteria, cannot be swayed by intellectual reasoning, no matter how well documented or presented.
While it is a source of frustration for those of us who respect the written word and accurate historical research, the fact remains - those in an emotional stranglehold of whatever making, are beyond the grasp of our efforts to persuade. There is some comfort in knowing that it is not a failure on our part to find the right words. There are no words that will release those from bondage who are beyond intellectual reasoning. In due time they may relinquish that hold, when the time is right emotionally for them.

Good point Bizzy...it is hard to understand how strong that emotional bondage is, but I know that it is powerful. Having been a victim of that type of blind acceptance, I can empathize with Reniaa. I guess I don't understand why she defends it so strongly while stating that she is still deciding whether she wants to be a JW.

She cannot defeat the people of this forum, if she is a freshman.
For example, I have the career of "a quarter of a century" as Jehovah's Witnesses.
Probably, other people may be the same as it, or they may have the career more.
Then, they are ex-Jehovah's Witnesses now. -

the answer to besty comment is 'Maybe' lol why do I have toi say yes or no? show me in the bible that very quesiton and I'll answer yes or no, but since the bible only says people will be given holy spirit that manifests itself in various ways we can only judge from what we know, and like I said I judge from bible.
I already admit personally to not having a great problem with dates,i'll accept them becasue Jw's fit in more important ways than that for me, John 17:3 definitely the scripture that totally disproves trinity.
but if you want more questions answer me one,
Do you think the christans were given special insight themselves in 300 ad-ish at the time of the creeds to develop the trinity?

P's I have never asserting anything about dates you guys did, your the ones that have decided in yourself to condemn or condone faiths on dates, it a funny yardstick to choose? personally I prefer scripture, and God's teachings but each to their own
Also I have about 15 different replies I have a busy life as a single mum, and topix is easier than this forum because it has pro-witnesses like me that can offer their viewpoints on these questions. so it's not just one person. 1- 15 is hardly fair I am not a machine that can sit here churning out replies all day lol
