hi besty now you qualify it I can say YEs I accept it becasue personally I don't find it an issue not too, I would find trinity and cross worship harder to accept.

Earnest has me mostly to rights I will be a Jw becasue I think they have the most scriptural hobesty but since I cannot find any better than them this way I will be one and wait on Jehovah or simple time for things to change more positively on the things I struggle with, most of which are not doctrinal just practical.

in one respect I don't agree with earnest I accept the bible as innerant (although translations of original by imperfect men can lead to apparent contradictions, like the lack of grammer in greek) I think the flood happenned but this is no different than being an evolutionist and having faith in 'Big Bang' onwards.

Awakened at Gilead : I did read your reply to Reniaa but have not watched your videos (as I have no sound on my computer). Each of the primary beliefs held by Jehovah's Witnesses would require a thread of their own, but in my own mind when I am considerating the interpretation of scripture I simply ask myself what would first-century Jews understand regarding the nature of God and his purpose for the earth. The point I am making is that it is not necessary to believe the Witnesses are appointed by God in order to hold that their beliefs are more in harmony with scripture than those of other Christian religions. I have already said I do not believe they are appointed by God, and (for the record) I think their exegesis of Revelation is absurd. But that does not prevent me from benefiting where I find their beliefs are in harmony with the Bible.

hotspur : In 1969 I was vacation pioneering during my school holidays and chose not to go to university as the end was so near. I lived through it too and know just how real it was at the time. I did not assert that dates do not mean much to the Society. I asserted that one can still hold that the primary beliefs of who God is (according to the Bible) and his purpose for the earth are true despite the obsession with dates and the rather dubious claim of appointment by God. Not that it makes any difference, but I completed my university degree last year.

A Tree is Known by Its Fruit
    (Luke 6:43-44)

15 “Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are savage wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruit. Grapes aren't gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles, are they? 17 In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a rotten tree produces bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, and a rotten tree cannot produce good fruit. 19 Every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into a fire. 20 So by their fruit you will know them.”

    I Never Knew You
    (Luke 6:46; 13:25-27)

21 “Not everyone who keeps saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will get into the kingdom of heaven, but only the person who keeps doing the will of my Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, we prophesied in your name, drove out demons in your name, and performed many miracles in your name, didn't we?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you evildoers!’”

    1 John 4
    Test the Spirits

1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Dates were utilized as a marketing foundation for their literature that spurred support and wealth for the organization, without dates

the organization with its foundation would have crumbled down decades ago.

The only problem is, is that there are indeed accumulative amount of bad after effects in doing so.

Power obtained can become very arrogant and hot with pride.
