Professor Carlos Castaneda found skywalkers because he was looking for them. You go to India looking for enlightenment and you end up with a Swami, you go the Central America and you end up with a Shaman.

Sorry, designs. Is your point that none of it is true or that all of it is true?

atrapado - I'm sorry I can't follow the reason for the maths lesson.

We been trained to think a certain way. Most discoveries happen because of an accidents or because someone was thinking completely outside our education system

Most discoveries are 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.

You are right that some people generate more heat than light. If people make assertions about what is true they can expect to be asked to provide evidence. They should not expect to be allowed to hide behind the post-modern clap-trap that everybody has their own truth.

your avatar makes me angry as if you like to kick that s.h.i.t out of us with the futbol. I just look at it and it hurts.

Yes I have felt the pain of getting a football in the face a few times - it stings!

poopsiecakes I am not going to denied am bias towards a God and the Bible and if there is one small straw that I can hold to I will. I have seen evidence on both sides of the story. Like insonsistancies in chronology for example Jesus Matthew vs Luke or how OT God does somethings that I cannot fully convince everyone as to why God did it etc. There are explanations for most of those issues. When you look at the explanations it might satisfy you it might not. Just because I agree with something doesn't mean I expect others to agree with it nor does it make it right.

cofty I am with you about evidence if someone claims something they should provide it or be quiet. Only thing I ask is that we don't get nasty with that person nor call them names.

I get that, darlin. We're all in different phases in our 'journey' out of the WT. It just struck me as a weird comment because it's exactly that thought which made me take a step back and re-evaluate everything. Not re-evaluating EVERYTHING seemed like more work at that point...

By the way, welcome to the forum!

Sulla- The compilers of the NT were inventing a new prototype of messiah to fit in well with the Hellinistic world, they succeeded he wasn't the Jewish messiah.

Oh, designs. Doesn't everybody know that the Jesus didn't do what the Jewish Messiah was supposed to do, at least not in the way they expected him to do it? That's why the Jews didn't all convert, isn't it? Hell, if I were a first-century Jew, I'd probably persecute Christians myself. Messiah on a cross? Bah!

But where you're mistaken is the idea that the early writers of the Nt were attempting to fit Jesus into a Greek-shaped box. For Greeks, the resurrection was the stupidest thing anybody ever said. Stupid Christians didn't even know that an enlightened man would certainly leave his body behind to go exist with the god of the forms, not raise the nasty thing back up. Ewwww. You'd think John, who knew enough Greek thinking to leverage the term logos would have caught that, but for whatever reason, he didn't.

    Greetings, Tornapart,

A resounding YES to your question. And sometimes I feel just like you, lonely. But I keep praying for holy spirit to guide me and then I feel better.

I know that God, through Jesus and holy spirit, shows me scriptures when I ask Him to. (He shows scriptures to several other members of my family, also.) When I'm feeling especially lonely, he shows me scriptures about regathering His scattered people. He showed me such a scripture very recently and it inspired me to resume posting on this forum. (I've been neglecting this for some time.)

So, I was very happy to find your question in the Active Topics. It was like an answer to prayer, a reassurance that, although cast out of the WTS, my family and I are not alone.

Please don't give up praying for our heavenly Father to guide you.

Looking forward to reading more of your posts.

    Christian love,

    Scatteredsheep

P.S. to anybody on this forum who's inclined to ridicule the idea that God shows us scriptures: I will simply ignore such ridicule.
