And again you're quick to link the inventor of the internal combustion engine - who at best was shortsighted about the environmental cost, and the stupidity of other people when using his invention, and at worst had an agenda to ruin both the environment and peoples lives beforehand, and deliberately made the internal combustion engine as such - with your loving designer. Are you sure you want to play this card?

What's going to control the animal populations? Nature is in balance. You take out, e.g. lions, the antelope population will decimate the savannah. Perhaps this is where the tsetse comes in. Your guess is as good as mine.

Cantleave, I used that as an illustration. Now that you mention it. The only place I see evolution in action is DC Comics, cartoons and Science Fiction movies. Must say, I do enjoy them, but at the same time I remember that they are all based on fiction.

Let me ask you all a question: Would the tsetse fly (or the mosquito for that matter) have any effect on, say, Superman? Well, according to the Bible that's how Adam and Eve started out? The green stuff (krypton?) = sin, was added, and now mankind is not so super anymore.

You and I talked about this before. --How most of your immune system is dedicated to fighting disease after it has penetrated your passive defenses. How a raging fever and the aches that go with it, a stuffy nose and puffy, watery eyes, sneezing and coughing are all facets of our immune system at work. If humans are the result of a special act of creation by God, then all of that has been designed as well.

To defend their arms industry a French general commented that French cars kill off more people than French bullets. Another person said if a motor car was discovered now, it would be banned, because it was too dangerous. So is the purpose of the motor car designer to kill or to transport people? Whose fault is the carnage on the roads?

Humans are at fault because humans are the sentient entity responsible for designing, building and operating motor vehicles. Deaths caused by motor vehicles are ultimately caused by humans.

The question of who is at fault for deaths caused by things like fleas, mosquitoes and flies has been wrestled with by theologians for many centuries.

I suggest you start reading reading some science books and papers Evolution is a proven fact.

Sab - have you learned nothing in 8 pages? You have still to suggest why your designer invented parasites.

I don't really think God invented parasites, but rather that parasites formed on their own. Evolution explains that formation nicely, but the fact that God allowed these parasites to form is evidence of our role on this planet. To take care of the parasites.

If you think we can control parasites you have not the slightest clue about the natural world.

Thank you for bringing up mosquitos. I struggled as a Witnesss with the reasoning as to why mosquitos live along side of us. What I found out is that a tangible reason that mosquitos exist is to provide food for fish in the nearby rivers. Their larva feed the fish. So, their actual existence and the itchy bumps on my forearms exist because of the natural relationship between fish and mosquito larva. One could point at our bumps and say, "why?" And they would have a good question. But, even if the question cannot be reasonable answered does not mean God doesn't care about humans just as a human father shouldn't be blamed for allowing his son to scrape his knee.

You make parasites sound like a minor inconvenience. Educate yourself Sab.

Here are the clinical features of African trypanosomiasis caused by the tstese fly bite.

Symptoms begin with fever, headaches, and joint pains. As the parasites enter through both the blood and lymph systems, lymph nodes often swell up to tremendous sizes. Winterbottom's sign, the telltale swollen lymph nodes along the back of the neck may appear. If untreated, the disease slowly overcomes the defenses of the infected person, and symptoms spread to include anemia, endocrine, cardiac, and kidney diseases and disorders. The disease then enters a neurological phase when the parasite passes through the blood-brain barrier.

The symptoms of the second phase give the disease its name; besides confusion and reduced coordination, the sleep cycle is disturbed with bouts of fatigue punctuated with manic periods progressing to daytime slumber and nighttime insomnia. Without treatment, the disease is invariably fatal, with progressive mental deterioration leading to coma and death. Damage caused in the neurological phase can be irreversible.
