Hey Carol, you cant blame me. You live in Florida. YOU voted him in !!

Carol
WRONG.........not everybody in Florida voted for him.....that's why his brother had to go to the Supreme Court to get him in! Poor Florida has a double whammy......."W" for president and Jebb for Governor.
That one I'm innocent on and you can search my ballot card for hanging chads!

I just think freedom in this country is going to hell in a handbasket and on scholarship. First it was this Patriot Act bull that gave the gov't freedom to access my medical records, tax records, keep a file on what books I rent or buy, and search my house without a warrant. The damned bill was supposed to expire at the end of this year, now our law makers are trying to make it permanent!?!? Now my bags are subject to be searched when I take public transportation. And I blame it all on our leaders. They let terrorist into the country, the terrorist kill a couple of thousand citizens, NOW they want to check bags and shit on the subway like that's going to stop terrorist??? I feel so safe now that I know that terrorist won't blow me up in the subway (insert sarcasm).Give me a friggin' break! They'll never stop blowing our asses up until we get out of their countries. If they can't kill us in the subways, they'll kill us elsewhere.
Am I supposed to sing a happy song now that I can be assured that I won't die in the subway?? PLEASE. Nowhere is safe, I can walk onto the street tomorrow and get blown away by a car bomb.
I guess what I'm getting at is, our leaders need to strike at the root of the problem instead of picking at the leaves. . .and no, Saddam is not the root, no matter how much our president wants us to believe he is.

Your point is terrorists will look like everyone else and mingle so that you don't know who's doing what. SOME terrorists do that and others are very pronounced about their views, their attitudes and are proud to be Islamic extremists. Look in American mosques and see some of the "terrorists" that have been arrested. Yup, they look like terrorists to me,too.
Honestly, how many of these do you see at the airport Min? Also, how many Muslim people do you see at the local Wal-Mart or grocery store that look like these same terrorists? Not ALL people with long beards, tea-cloth robes and dark skin are terrorists, but they sure do LOOK like them. So they MUST be terrorists, right? Did you see the pictures of Mohammed Atta in the airport video survellaince from 9/11? He looked handsome and clean cut. Like the thousands of Middle Eastern IT businessmen I've worked with here in Texas. Maybe because they're aren't the typical Causasian dude with blond hair/blue eyes, they're terrorists too! Honestly, where do you draw the line?

YES! A bag search at a subway station is a direct violation of the constitutional rights afforded me under the fourth ammendment.

Is there authority to support this view or is it just your personal opinion? if there is authority then like Fleaman I would sooner live somewhere where government or the judiciary are proactive as opposed to allowing terrorists to slip through the net on such whimsical grounds.

Incrementally people are losing their rights and freedoms. The ploy of terrorism strikes fear in the hearts of many. A great 'tool' to use to control people.
As the late Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, "In politics nothing happens by accident, if it happens you can bet it was 'planned' that way."
Expect more loss of rights and freedoms. The amendments to the bill of rights were designed to eradicate the bill of rights! Yes, expect more. -

Were f00king lucky to be bickering about our freedoms. People living in Palestine and Iraq have suecide bombs every day, only we dont really care cos there kinda brown looking people and their countries are messy and they dont have nice shops and shit.
They dont have time to sit around bickering about amendments, theyre busy trying to survive the next day and find some food.
But if they did have 5 minutes to think about things that were unfair I bet they'd be thinking 'id BLOODY WELL LOVE TO LIVE IN UK or USA where they have cars and fridges and jobs and holidays and clothes and schools and hospitals and police and their kids dont die all the F00KING time', and I doubt if they would mind if someone searched their handbag in case there was a bomb in it.
